It <br />November 30, 1970 <br />A regular meeting.of the Board of Public Works and Safety convened at 9:30 <br />A.M., on November 30, 1970, with all members present. The minutes of the <br />previous meeting were reviewed and approved. <br />BIDS OPENED FOR ABANDONED VEHICLES <br />This being the date set for receiving bids for approximately 500 abandoned <br />vehicles, the Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend <br />Tribune and the Tri County News on November 6 and November 13, 1970, which <br />were read and found to be sufficient. Walnut St. <br />South Bend, Indiana, 46621------------------ $5,555.00 <br />Over 500 vehicles, plus $11.11 per vehicle <br />in excess of 500. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried the bids were referred <br />to the Engineering Department for review and recommendation. <br />BIDS OPENED FOR FIRE HOSE <br />This being the date set for receiving bids for fire hose for the Fire Depart- <br />ment, the Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend <br />Tribune and the Tri County News on November 13 and November 20, 1970, which <br />were read and found to be sufficient. <br />The only bid received was from Midwest Fire and Safety Equipment Company, <br />Inc., 1605 Prospect Street, Indianapolis, Indiana, which was accompanied by <br />a non collusion affidavit and bid bond in the amount of 109% of the bid.
