Leone for the "South Bend Project" to hold a march and rally at <br />Howard Park on December 12, 1970, and that the Police Department will cooperate <br />to insure safe and orderly conduct. <br />REQUEST OF SALVATION ARMY TO PLACE BOOTHS DURING CHRISTMAS SEASON <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved the <br />request of the Salvation Army for permission to place booths on the sidewalk <br />in the down town area for the purpose of its bell ringing and kettle drive from <br />November 27, 1970 to December 25, 1970. <br />REQUEST FOR LOADING ZONE - J. C. PENNEY COMPANY <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the request of J. C. Penney Company, <br />220 S. Michigan Street, South Bend, Indiana, by John R. Buffington, Manager, <br />for permission to establish a loading zone in front of 310 E. Wayne Street <br />until December 26, 1970, was referred to the Traffic Engineering Department <br />for study and recommendation. <br />COLUMBIA STREET REPAIRED <br />The City Engineer reports the 1600 block of Columbia Street, complained of by <br />H. J. Holmes and 51 others, has been repaired and slurry sealed,'and appears <br />to be satisfactory. <br />COMPLAINT = DISTURBANCE AT 715 E. WENGER STREET <br />A complaint of disturbances at 715 E. Wenger Street, brought to the attention <br />of the Board by Councilman Robert 0. Laven, was referred to the Police Department <br />for appropriate action. <br />TRAFFIC REGULATION - BRUCE STREET AT CATALPA <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved the <br />recommendation of the Traffic Engineering Department for the installation of <br />stop signs and posts on Bruce Street at Catalpa Street. <br />STREET LIGHTING CHANGE APPROVED - HARBER HOMES <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved a change in <br />street lighting in the Harber Homes area, to comply with the Subdivision re- <br />quirements, from the installation of 15 7000L MV OH WP lights at $56.25 per <br />month to 15 7000L MV UG CP lights at a cost of $97.50 per month. <br />
