In -kind rent vouchem,for October and November, 1970, of the value of $283.34 per month, each, for Fire Station #5 and Fire Station #7 from A.C.T.I.O.N., Inc, were ordered filed. REQUEST TO HOLD MARCH - CHARLES S. LEONE Chief of Police Loren M. Bussert reports permission has been granted to Charles S. Leone for the "South Bend Project" to hold a march and rally at Howard Park on December 12, 1970, and that the Police Department will cooperate to insure safe and orderly conduct. REQUEST OF SALVATION ARMY TO PLACE BOOTHS DURING CHRISTMAS SEASON Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved the request of the Salvation Army for permission to place booths on the sidewalk in the down town area for the purpose of its bell ringing and kettle drive from November 27, 1970 to December 25, 1970. REQUEST FOR LOADING ZONE - J. C. PENNEY COMPANY Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the request of J. C. Penney Company, 220 S. Michigan Street, South Bend, Indiana, by John R. Buffington, Manager, for permission to establish a loading zone in front of 310 E. Wayne Street until December 26, 1970, was referred to the Traffic Engineering Department for study and recommendation. COLUMBIA STREET REPAIRED The City Engineer reports the 1600 block of Columbia Street, complained of by H. J. Holmes and 51 others, has been repaired and slurry sealed,'and appears to be satisfactory. COMPLAINT = DISTURBANCE AT 715 E. WENGER STREET A complaint of disturbances at 715 E. Wenger Street, brought to the attention of the Board by Councilman Robert 0. Laven, was referred to the Police Department for appropriate action. TRAFFIC REGULATION - BRUCE STREET AT CATALPA Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved the recommendation of the Traffic Engineering Department for the installation of stop signs and posts on Bruce Street at Catalpa Street. STREET LIGHTING CHANGE APPROVED - HARBER HOMES Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved a change in street lighting in the Harber Homes area, to comply with the Subdivision re- quirements, from the installation of 15 7000L MV OH WP lights at $56.25 per month to 15 7000L MV UG CP lights at a cost of $97.50 per month.
