<br />POLICE DEPARTMENT - APPLICATIONS
<br />The following applications for appointment to the South Bend Police Depart-
<br />ment were filed with the Board and referred to the Personnel Director for
<br />further processing:

<br />POLICE DEPARTMENT - TRANSFER OF FUNDS APPROVED
<br />Upon the recommendation ofart,�heeBeputy Controller, the motion was made,
<br />seconded and unanimously/ o approve the transfer of $2,000.00 from Account
<br />P-265 (services contractual) to Account'.P-252 (repair of equipment) and of
<br />$500.00 from Account P-265 (services contractual) to Account P-262 (medical,
<br />surgical and dental) as requested by Chief of Police Loren M. Bussert.
<br />And the request was referred to the Legal Department for th a preparation
<br />of a resolution for the consideration of the Common Council.
<br />POLICE DEPARTMENT - APPOINTMENTS
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried and upon the recommendation of Chief
<br />of Police Loren M. Bussert, the following applicants were appointed to the
<br />South Bend Police Department effective November 16, 1970: Walter Hager and David
<br />Talboom.
<br />POLICE DEPARTMENT - SPECIAL POLICE OFFICER APPOINTED
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, and upon the recommendation of
<br />Chief of Police Loren.M. Bussert, Henry C. Weymon, Jr., was appointed'as a
<br />special police officer, employed by Consolidated Negro Contractors, Inc,
<br />POLICE DEPARTMENT - RESIGNATION
<br />Upon, motion made, seconded and carried and upon the recommendation of
<br />Chief of Police Loren M. Bussert, the resignation of Robert R. Schulz, Jr.,
<br />from the South Bend Police Department, effective December 31, 1970, was
<br />accepted.
<br />AGREEMENT WITH JOSEPH W. LARIMORE, JR., & ASSOCIATES, COMPUTER CONSULTANTS
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved and
<br />entered into an agreement with Joseph W. Larimore, Jr., and Associates, 848
<br />Carillon Court, St. Louis, Missouri, computer consultants, for consulting
<br />services for the South Bend Law Enforcement Computer Center (Grant 1-32-70-D-3)
<br />at a cost not to exceed $7500.00.
<br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT - SUB -STANDARDS DIVISION
<br />J. W. Adamson, Sub -Standards Director, appeared before the Board and the
<br />following matters were taken up.
<br />118 E. Paris Street. Louis Anderson appeared before the Board as requested and
<br />stated that he 4s getting -bids for demolition of the building and estimates
<br />for closing it up, and is -trying to sell it. Upon motion made, seconded and
<br />carried the matter was continued four weeks, subject to the structure being
<br />secured within two weeks.
<br />1318 Hillcrest Road. Mr. Andrew Pustay appeared before the Board and stated
<br />that he has decided not to rehabilitate the building and is agreeable to the
<br />City taking it down. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Sub -Standards
<br />Director was authorized to seek bids for demolition of the structure at
<br />1318 Hillcrest Road.
<br />830 S. Rush Street. No representative of St. Joseph County Commissioners
<br />appeared as requested. Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried,
<br />the Sub -Standards Director was authorized to seek bids for demolition of
<br />the accessory building at 830 S. Rush Street, to fill in the basement of the
<br />original house and remove the chimney and clean up the lot.
<br />1134 E. Cedar Street. The Sub -Standards Director reported he has heard nothing
<br />from the owner Catherine Pletcher; that return receipt to his certified notice
<br />was received from Charles Hahn. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the
<br />Sub -Standards Director was authorized to seek bids for demolition of the
<br />structure at 1134 E. Cedar Street.
