11/'9/70 <br />HEARING ON VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3332 - 36TH STREET AND ALLEYS (RE LAGOON "K" ) <br />This being the date set, hearing was held on Vacation Resolution No. 3332, <br />for the vacation of: <br />Thirty Sixth Street, from the south line of Lots 40 and <br />65 north to.the south line of Washington Street; also, the <br />north -south alley lying between 35th and 36th Streets from <br />the south line of Lots 101 and 62 north to the south line <br />of Washington Street; also, the east -west alley running <br />from 36th Street east to the first north -south alley lying <br />between Lots 43 and 44. All in Belmont Addition to the <br />City of South Bend, Indiana. <br />The Clerk tendered proofs of publication on October 30 and November 6, 1970, <br />in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri County News which were read and found <br />to be sufficient. <br />No remonstrators having appeared and no written remonstrances having been <br />received, upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, Vacation <br />r-1 Resolution No. 3332 adopted October 26, 1970, was finally approved and <br />confirmed. And the CitV Engineer was directed to prepare an assessment roll. <br />it✓ <br />REMONSTRANCE FILED - IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 3330 - ALLEYS BETWEEN <br />HUEY AND O' BR I EN <br />A remonstrance signed by 35 persons against the improvement of the alleys <br />between Huey and O'Brien Streets, from Humboldt to the tee and from Huey <br />to O'Brien Street, by constructing a Class C, Type 1, concrete pavemebt, <br />was filed with the Board by Ed Slake, 1216 N. Huey Street, South Bend, <br />Indiana, and referred to the Engineering Department for study and 'recommenda- <br />tion. <br />CONTRACTS AWARDED - FOR CONSTRUCTION OF FIRE STATION #10 IRELAND ROAD <br />AND LAFAYETTE BOULEVARD <br />Upon motion made seconded and unanimously carried, contracts for con- <br />struction of Fire Station #10 at Ireland Road and Lafayette Boulevard, <br />were awarded as follows:' <br />B & G Construction Co.. Inc. - general construction work: <br />Base bid ----------------------------------- $75,662.00 <br />Alternate G-1 (poured concrete foundations)--- 125.00 $75,787.00 <br />Arrow Electric .Co., Inc. - electrical work: <br />Base bid ------------------------------------- $140400.00 <br />Alternate E-1 (incercom paging amplifier)----- 1,050.00 $15,450.00 <br />Stickler Plumbing & Heating, Inc. - mechanical <br />work------------------------------------------------------ $37,731 00 <br />HEART ASSOCIATION REQUEST TO DEPOSIT COLLECTION KITS AT FIRE STATIONS <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved the <br />request of the County Heart Association, by Anthony Boatman, Executive <br />Director, for permission to deposit collection kits at Fire Stations A, <br />#12 and #15 between February 28 and March 5, 1971, during their fund drive, <br />with the understanding the Fire Department will in no way be responsible <br />for the kits. <br />UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS REQUEST TO PLACE COLLECTION BARRELS FOR TOYS <br />AT FIRE STATIONS <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved the <br />request of the United States Marine Corps, by E. M. Condra, 1901 S. Kemble <br />Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, for permission to place a barrel at each <br />fire station for the collection of toys in connection with their "toys for <br />tots campaign for needy children during the Christmas season. <br />STREET LIGHTING PETITIONS <br />The: following street light petitions were filed with the Board and referred <br />to the Engineering Department for study and recommendation: <br />For a street light at 121 N. 26th Street and Larchway - filed by Mrs. <br />
