<br />REQUEST FOR CAB STANDS - INDIANA CAB COMPANY
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the request of the Indiana Cab Company,
<br />710 N. Niles Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, for a two -cab stand in front of the
<br />American National Bank and Trust Company, on the west side of Main Street
<br />and for a two -cab stand in,the 200 block of W. Washington Street, on the north
<br />side of the street, just west of the alley, was referred to the Traffic
<br />Engineering Department for study and recommendation to the Board,
<br />REQUEST TO HOLD BONFIRE - MACEDONIA BAPTIST CHURCH
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the request of the
<br />Macedonia Baptist Church, 1826 N. Olive Street, South Bend, Indiana, for the
<br />Junior Choir to hold a bonfire on September 26, 1970, between 7:00 P.M. and
<br />10:00 P.M., in the field near the Church, subject to the approval of the Fire
<br />Department.
<br />BONFIRES - TO BE DISCONTINUED
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board adopted a policy henceforth
<br />whereby it will no longer approve' any request to hold a bonfire.
<br />HOLIDAY - MONDAY, OCTOBER 12, 1970
<br />Monday, October 12, 1970, being an official holiday, it was moved, seconded
<br />and carried that the meeting of the Board of Public Works and Safety scheduled
<br />for that day be eliminated. And the Clerk was directed to so notify all
<br />Departments.
<br />CONTRACTOR'S BOND
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved certificate continuing
<br />contractor's bond of Cohagan Equipment Company, Inc., to 10/5/71.

<br />PRELIMINARY ORDER FOR CLASS C, TYPE III -A PAVEMENT
<br />FINAL ORDER FOR CLASS C, TYPE IV PAVEMENT
<br />CONTRACT AWARDED
<br />NOTICE TO PROCEED
<br />For the improvement of Vine Street, from 32nd Street to 36th Street, by con-
<br />structing a Class C pavement with curb repair.
<br />Clyde E. Williams and Associates, Inc., consulting engineers, having examined
<br />the bid of Rieth Riley Construction Company, Inc., recommends to the Board that
<br />said streets be paved with Class C, Type III -A asphalt pavement.
<br />The Board having considered the bid and the recommendation of the consulting
<br />engineer, the motion was made, seconded and carried that said streets be
<br />paved with Class C, Type III -A asphalt pavement.
<br />Whereas 51% and more of the resident property owners on said Vine Street
<br />have requested in writing that Class C, Type IV pavement be used, upon motion
<br />made, seconded and carried, the preliminary order is hereby rescinded and the
<br />street ordered paved with Class C, Type IV pavement.

<br />street is awarded to Rieth-Riley Construction Company, Inc., for the paving.
