Barbe, representing the Department <br />of Redevelopment. <br />Appearing against the vacation were Mrs. Rose Baetsle, 126 N. Meade Street, <br />South Bend, Indiana; Mrs. Henry Jones, 2629 W. Washington Avenue, South Bend, <br />Indiana and Mrs. James Scott, 2629 Newcome Street, South Bend, Indiana, who <br />objected to the vacation because they use the alleys in their vicinity. <br />Mrs. James Scott, 2629 Newcome stated she operates a beauty shop right on the <br />alley and that taxicabs use the alley to pick up and discharge customers. <br />Mr. Barbe explained the vacation plan in the LaSalle Park Redevelopment <br />project is to vacate those alleys which can be closed without affecting <br />utilities and existing garages, in an endeavor to provide off-street parking. <br />After hearing all who wished to speak, upon motion made, secc"ded and carried, <br />the hearing was continued until September 21, 1970, for the Department of <br />Redevelopment to further contact property owners. <br />HEARING ON VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3327 - ASSOCIATES DISCOUNT CORPORATION <br />This being the date set, hearing was held on Vacation Resolution No. 3327, <br />being for the vacation of; <br />29 feet of a public court as platted in E. Louis <br />Kuhn's Subdivision of the west Half of Large Lot <br />No. 20 in Samuel L. Cottrell's First Addition to <br />the town of Lowell, now a part of the city of South <br />Bend. <br />The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune <br />and the Tri County News on September 4 and September 11, 1970, which were <br />read and found to be sufficient. <br />Attorney Arthur W.
