<br />AGREEMENT SIGNED FOR TRANSFER OF WATER WORKS PROPERTY AND CITY HALL
<br />PROPERTY TO DEPARTMENT OF REDEVELOPMENT
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved and
<br />executed a contract for the transfer of property formerly used by the
<br />Water Works (designated as Parcel 1) and the property formerly used and
<br />occupied by the City of South Bend as a city hall and parking lot (designated
<br />as Parcel 2), subject to the approval of the Common Council.
<br />REQUEST TO HOLD BONFIRE AND PARADE - ST. JOSEPH HIGH SCHOOL
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved the
<br />request of Brother Charles Gregg, C.S.C., Adviser, St. Joseph High School,
<br />1441 N. Michigan Street, South Bend, Indiana for permission to hold a bonfire
<br />on October 16, 1970, under the supervision of the Fire Department, and to
<br />hold a parade at 6:30 P.M. on October 17, 1970, from St. Joseph High School
<br />to the Jackson High School athletic field.
<br />REQUEST TO HOLD BLOCK PARTY 9/13/70
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, permission was granted
<br />ri to close Roosevelt Street, from Inglewood to the first alley east on
<br />0 September 13, 1970, for a block party between the hours of 2:00 P.M. and
<br />8:00 P.M., as requested by Mrs. Phyllis A. Gartner, 1109 Roosevelt Street,
<br />South Bend, Indiana, and nine other residents in the block.
<br />REPORT OF TRAFFIC DIRECTOR ON REQUEST FOR NO PARKING SIGNS ON JACKSON
<br />AND YORK ROADS
<br />Traffic Director Clem F. Hazinski reports to the Board that no parking
<br />signs were posted as requested on Jackson Road And York Road September 6,
<br />1970, as requested by.,Charles Lindzy, Chairman of the"Committee to Re -Elect
<br />Sheriff Sokol."
<br />REPORT OF TRAFFIC DIRECTOR - AMERICAN NATIONAL BANK MOVE TO NEW BUILDING
<br />Traffic Director Clem F. Hazinski reports to the Board Michigan and
<br />Washington Streets blocked and supervised for the move of the American
<br />National Bank to its new building September 4, 5 and 6, 1970.
<br />REQUEST OF INDIANA MOTOR BUS COMPANY TO PICK UP AND DISCHARGE PASSENGERS
<br />ON W. WASHINGTON STREET
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the recommendation
<br />of the Traffic Engineering Department that permission be granted to the
<br />Indiana Motor Bus Company to pick up and discharge passengers at the curb
<br />on the north side of Washington Street at the new American National Bank
<br />Building for transportation to and from O'Hare Airport, Chicago.
<br />It was further moved, seconded and carried that parking (other than the
<br />short stops by the Indiana Motor. Bus Company for the pick up and discharge
<br />of passengers for transportation to O'Hare Airport): -on the._�brtfidside of
<br />Washington Street from Main Street west to the parking ramp of the new
<br />American Bank Building be prohibited.
<br />RECOMMENDATION OF TRAFFIC ENGINEERING RE SLURRY SEALING LOMBARDY DRIVE
<br />The recommendation of David A. Wells of the Engineering Department in
<br />reference to slurry sealing was received and placed on file.
<br />STREET LIGHT PETITIONS
<br />The following petitions for street lights were filed with the Board and, upon
<br />motion made, seconded and carried, referred to the Traffic Engineering Depart-
<br />ment for investigation and report to the Board:
<br />The petition of Wilbur Thomas, 1026 Woodward Avenue, South Bend, Indiana,
<br />and 11 others for a street light at 1015 Woodward Avenue.
<br />The petition of David J. Drajer, 2629 Anzio Boulevard, South Bend, Indiana,
<br />and 13 others for a street light at midway of Anzio, between Pyle and Rockne.
<br />The petition of Rudolph L. Pinter, 1118 Culver Place, South Bend, Indiana,
<br />and 21 others for a street light between Blyler Place and Good Place, at
<br />the alley across from 1118 Culver Place.
