8/24/70 STREET LIGHT PETITION - VASSAR BETWEEN ADAMS AND WILBER Upon motion made seconded and carried, a petition signed by Mrs. Kenneth Barfell, 1051 Wilber Street and 18 others, for a street light on Vassar midway between Adams and Wilber, was referred to the Traffic Engineering Department for study and recommendation. STREET LIGHT REQUESTS Upon motion made, seconded and carried,the following requests for street lights were referred to the Traffic Engineering Department for study°and recommendation: Request of Walter M. Szymkowiak for a street light in Kunstman Court; Request of Walter M. Szymkowiak for street lights in the 1000 and 1100 blocks on Sussex Drive. Request of Mrs. Janet Allen for light pole on Niles_ Avenue just north of North Shore Drive. STREET LIGHTING APPROVED Upon motion made, seconded and carried the Board approved the recommendation of the Traffic Engineering Department for the following street lighting: Area bounded by Bader, Ironwood, Colfax and Twyckenham (including an unddrground Boulevard system and overhead wood pole system and a section of arterial (McKinley) lighting): Remove - 13 4,000L INC OH WP 13 6,0001_ INC OH WP 28 49000L UG BLVD Install - 13 7,000L MV OH WP 3 7,000L MV OH WP 13 20,000L MV OH WP 1 20,000L MV OH WP 25 7,000L MV BLVD 3 7,000L MV UG CP at a cost of $1,774.20 per year. Ironwood Bridge Street: Install - 3 20,000L MV UG CP Replace - 2 10,000L INC OH WP with 2 20,000L MV OH WP at a cost of $372.00 per year. REQUEST FOR SIDEWALK REPAIR ON TWYCKENHAM DRIVE Upon motion made; seconded and carried the request of Robert 0. Laven for sidewalk repasr at the Spur Railroad crossing on Twyckenham Drive was re- ferred to the Engineering Department for study and recommendation. REQUEST FOR NO PARKING SIGNS ON JACKSON AND YORK ROADS - "COMMITTEE TO RE-ELECT SHERIFF SOKOL" Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the request of Charles Lindzy, Chairman of the Committee to re-elect Sheriff Sokol; for permission to place "no parking" signs on both sides of Jackson Road east of Miami tb Ironwood and on a portion of York Road from Jackson Road south, was approved by the Board for September 6, 1970, at 8:00 P.M. during a fireworks display at the 4-H Fairgrounds, subject to review by the Traffic Director. CONTRACTORS BONDS APPROVED The following contractors' bonds were approved by the Board and ordered filed: Zoltan Tiser, d/b/a Tiser Construction Company - to 8/20/71. Continuation certificate for Cohagan Equipment Company - to 10/5/70. CONTRACTOR'S BOND REJECTED Certificate for continuation of a contractor's bond on behalf of Dave Kollar
