8/24/70 <br />STREET LIGHT PETITION - VASSAR BETWEEN ADAMS AND WILBER <br />Upon motion made seconded and carried, a petition signed by Mrs. Kenneth Barfell, <br />1051 Wilber Street and 18 others, for a street light on Vassar midway between <br />Adams and Wilber, was referred to the Traffic Engineering Department for study <br />and recommendation. <br />STREET LIGHT REQUESTS <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried,the following requests for street <br />lights were referred to the Traffic Engineering Department for study°and <br />recommendation: <br />Request of Walter M. Szymkowiak for a street light in Kunstman Court; <br />Request of Walter M. Szymkowiak for street lights in the 1000 and <br />1100 blocks on Sussex Drive. <br />Request of Mrs. Janet Allen for light pole on Niles_ Avenue just north <br />of North Shore Drive. <br />STREET LIGHTING APPROVED <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried the Board approved the recommendation <br />of the Traffic Engineering Department for the following street lighting: <br />Area bounded by Bader, Ironwood, Colfax and Twyckenham (including an <br />unddrground Boulevard system and overhead wood pole system and a section <br />of arterial (McKinley) lighting): <br />Remove - 13 4,000L INC OH WP <br />13 6,0001_ INC OH WP <br />28 49000L UG BLVD <br />Install - 13 7,000L MV OH WP <br />3 7,000L MV OH WP <br />13 20,000L MV OH WP <br />1 20,000L MV OH WP <br />25 7,000L MV BLVD <br />3 7,000L MV UG CP <br />at a cost of $1,774.20 per year. <br />Ironwood Bridge Street: <br />Install - 3 20,000L MV UG CP <br />Replace - 2 10,000L INC OH WP with 2 20,000L MV OH WP <br />at a cost of $372.00 per year. <br />REQUEST FOR SIDEWALK REPAIR ON TWYCKENHAM DRIVE <br />Upon motion made; seconded and carried the request of Robert 0. Laven for <br />sidewalk repasr at the Spur Railroad crossing on Twyckenham Drive was re- <br />ferred to the Engineering Department for study and recommendation. <br />REQUEST FOR NO PARKING SIGNS ON JACKSON AND YORK ROADS - "COMMITTEE TO RE-ELECT <br />SHERIFF SOKOL" <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the request of Charles Lindzy, Chairman <br />of the Committee to re-elect Sheriff Sokol; for permission to place "no parking" <br />signs on both sides of Jackson Road east of Miami tb Ironwood and on a portion <br />of York Road from Jackson Road south, was approved by the Board for September <br />6, 1970, at 8:00 P.M. during a fireworks display at the 4-H Fairgrounds, <br />subject to review by the Traffic Director. <br />CONTRACTORS BONDS APPROVED <br />The following contractors' bonds were approved by the Board and ordered filed: <br />Zoltan Tiser, d/b/a Tiser Construction Company - to 8/20/71. <br />Continuation certificate for Cohagan Equipment Company - to 10/5/70. <br />CONTRACTOR'S BOND REJECTED <br />Certificate for continuation of a contractor's bond on behalf of Dave Kollar <br />
