<br />FINAL ORDER
<br />AWARD OF CONTRACT
<br />IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 3318 - E. WASHINGTON STREET
<br />For the improvement of E. Washington Street, from Greenlawn to Ironwood, by
<br />constructing a Class C pavement with curbs and curb repair.
<br />Clyde E. Williams and Associates, Inc. report they have examined the bids
<br />received on A ugust 17, 1970, find
<br />and that the Rieth Riley Construction
<br />Company has submitted the lowest and best bid for Class C, Type III A
<br />pavement and the lowest and best bid.for Class C, Type IV pavement, and
<br />recommends that Class C, Type III A pavement be used.
<br />And the Board, upon motion made, seconded and carried, approves said
<br />recommendation and orders that said street be paved with"Class C, Type III A
<br />pavement.
<br />r_� Fifty-one percent or more of the resident property owners on E. Washington
<br />�p Street having requested in writing that said street be paved with Class C,
<br />Type IV pavement, the preliminary order is hereby rescinded and said street
<br />s� ordered paved with Class C, Type IV pavement.
<br />�+ And the Board adopts a resolution awarding contract for the improvement of
<br />E. Washington Street, from Greenlawn to Ironwood, XXXAY4X M*N to Rieth Riley
<br />Construction Company, Inc., on its low bid.
<br />COMPLAINT - ANNA PAPPAS
<br />The complaint of Miss Anna Pappas, 512 Madison Street, South Bend, Indiana,
<br />regarding the condition of the alley next to 520 W. Madison Street was re-
<br />ferred to the Street Department,
<br />REQUEST TO PARK TRAILER IN FRONT OF COURT HOUSE - DISABLED AMERICAN VETERANS
<br />Upon motion made seconded and carried, the request of the South Bend Chapter 6
<br />Disabled American Veterans, 117 William Street, South Bend, Indiana, by Leonard
<br />Buzalski, Commander, for permission to park a service trailer on Main Street
<br />in front of the court house from August 30 to September 6, 1970, was denied.
<br />REQUEST TO BARRICADE MICHIGAN AND WASHINGTON STREETS - AMERICAN NATIONAL BANK
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the request of Woodworth Storage and
<br />Transfer, Inc., 1865 N. Kenmore (Airport Industrial Park) South Bend, Indiana,
<br />for permission to block Michigan and Washington Streets during tha move of
<br />the American National Bank to its new building at the corner of Main and
<br />Washington Streets August 31 through September 6, 1970, was referred to the
<br />Traffic Engineering Department for study and recommendation.
<br />REQUEST PERMISSION TO PICK UP AND DISCHARGE PASSENGERS ON WASHINGTON STREET -
<br />INDIANA MOTOR BUS COMPANY
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the request of the Indiana Motor Bus
<br />Company, 716 S. Main Street, South Bend, Indiana, for permission to pick up
<br />and discharge passenggrs at the curb on Washington Street in front of the new
<br />American Bank Building was referred to the Traffic Engineering Department for
<br />study and recommendation.
<br />MIAMI STREET BUSINESS AND PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATION - RILEY HIGH SCHOOL PARADE
<br />Copy of a letter addressed to the Riley High School by the Miami Street
<br />Business and Professional Association advising the Association has decided not
<br />to hold the Riley High School Football Parade this year was ordered filed.
<br />REQUEST TO HOLD STREET SERVICES - REV. WILLIE COATES
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the request of
<br />Rev. Willie Coates, Pastor of Emmanuel Church, 415 W. LaSalle Street, South
<br />Bend, Indiana, to hold street services between 7:00 P.M. and 10:00 P.M. Monday
<br />through Saturday each week at W. Washington Avenue and Maple Street and at
<br />the corner of Chapin and Wayne Streets commencing August 24, 1970 and continuing
<br />through September so long as the weather permits.
