6/15/70 <br />n-m <br />JAMES McNEILE APPOINTED SUPERVISOR OF PARKING FACILITIES <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, James McNeille was <br />appointed by the Board of Public Works and Safety as Supervisor of Parking <br />Facilities, effective June 15, 1970. <br />REQUEST FOR CAB STAND - COURTESY CAB ASSOCIATION <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the request of the Courtesy Cab <br />Association, by Richard Ellis, President, for a cab stand at the new South <br />Shore Station was referred to the Traffic Engineering Department for <br />investigation and recommendation to the Board. <br />COMPLAINT - COMMON COUNCIL <br />A communication from the office of the City Clerk regarding the complaint <br />of the City Council as to the paving of roads in newly annexed areas <br />was referred to the City Engineer for appropriate action. <br />COMPLAINT - ZONING VIOLATION <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the complaint of Enid C. Spohnholz, <br />718 S. Carroll Street, South Bend, Indiana, regarding the use of heavy <br />machinery in a factory at 720 S. Carroll Street, was referred to the <br />Building Department for investigation and report to the Board. <br />COMMUNICATION - ST. JOSEPH COUNTY ENGINEER <br />Copy of a communication regarding Cleveland Road bridge, addressed to the <br />Board of County Commissioners by County Engineer William J. Richardson <br />was ordered filed. <br />PETITION TO RETAIN PRESENT STREET LIGHTING - PARK AVENUE <br />Petition bearing the signatures of 132 residents in the 600, 700 and 800 <br />blocks of Park Avenue and the immediate neighborhood for retention of the <br />present type of street lighting system, upon motion made, seconded and <br />unanimously carried, was referred to the Traffic Engineering Department <br />for study and recommendation. <br />STREET LIGHTING REQUEST- 2000 block S. Swy art Avenue <br />Petition bearing signatures of 19 persons for additional street lighting <br />in the 2000 block of S. Swygart Avenue, upon motion made; seconded and <br />unanimously carried, was referred to the Traffic Engineering Department <br />for study and recommendation. <br />STREET LIGHTING REQUEST- CLYDE CREEK AREA - YORK ROAD <br />The request of Frances Feferman, 2741 York Road, South Bend, Indiana, for <br />additional street lighting in this area, upon motion made, seconded and <br />unanimously carried, was referred to the Traffic Engineering Department <br />for study and recommendation. <br />TRAFFIC REGULATION - 1500 BLOCK S. MAIN <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved the <br />recommendation of the Traffic Director to extend the two hour zone length <br />so as to include a greater curb length in the 1500 block of S. Main Street. <br />CONTRACTORS' BONDS CANCELLED <br />Cancellation of contractor's bond-,'T'4227847 on behalf of Willis Brothers <br />Concrete and contractor's bond ##272770 on behalf of Paul Juhasz, Jr., <br />as of June 15, 1970, for any work performed on or after June 15, 1970, was <br />approved by the Board. <br />
