6/8/70 <br />HEARING ON VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3317 (VACATION OF EASEMENT ALONG <br />HYDRAULIC AVE.) MILL RACE, INC. <br />This being the date set, Hearing was held on Vacation Res. No. 3317, <br />and the Clerk tendered proofs of publication of. notice in the South <br />Bend Tribune and the Tri County News on May 29 and June 5, 1970, <br />which were found to be sufficient. <br />Bruce H. Stewart, Attorney, appeared on behalf of the petitioners, <br />and it was moved, seconded and carried that Hearing be continued in <br />two weeks to allow time to determine a drainage matter. <br />COMPLAINT OF CHARLES HOWELL OF BUILDERS UNITED CONSTRUCTION CO. <br />Mr. Howell appeared to complain that prefabricated house parts which <br />were loaded on a semi -trailer truck had been otwed away at the request <br />of the Police Dept. due to complaints by neighbors. Mr. Howell was <br />told that the Board would check with the Police Dept, to work out a <br />procedure whereby large trucks would be authorized to park in the <br />street for several hours while being unloaded. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT -- SUB STANDARDS DIVISION <br />725 Fellows - Mr. Mendenhall, owner, appeared before the Board, <br />together with his attorney John Gonas. He was informed that neither <br />of the buildings at this address are to be occupied by anyone and <br />must either be (1) closed up tightly, (2) repaired or (3) demolished. <br />J. W. Adamson, Sub -Standards Director, appeared before the Board, <br />and by motions made, seconded and carried, the Board took actions. <br />as follows: <br />2116 Western Ave. - Continued for a period of 6 weeks. <br />1110 N. Hill - Continued for one week. <br />1002 Culver Place - Continued indefinitely. <br />1137 S. Franklin - Continued one week to determine if owner of <br />record, Anastasia Leweicka, is the same as Anastasia Nietch who <br />signed return receipt for certified mail notice to appear. <br />1506 S. Kemble - Two week continuance to give owner time to secure <br />the building. <br />2202 Pleasant - Two week continuance granted to allow time to arrange <br />for demolition by private contract. <br />305 E. Wenger - Continued for one week, and Sub -Standard Division <br />directed to hand -deliver certified notice. <br />507 E. South - It was reported that this structure had been secured, <br />and this case is continued indefinitely with buildingto be kept <br />under surveillance. <br />1237 Van Buren - Continued for one week, and if building is not <br />secured in this time bids will be sought for demolition. <br />2808 Pleasant - It was reported that this structure has been secured. <br />This matter to be continued indefinitely and building kept under <br />surveillance. <br />721 W. Wayne - Sub -Standards Division authorized to seek bids for <br />demolition. <br />720 George St. - Continued for two weeks. <br />1022 Franklin - Sub -Standards Division authorized to seek bids for <br />demolition. <br />1218 S. Carroll - Sub -Standards Division authorized to seek bids for <br />demolition. <br />1320 Hine Street - Continued for one week to allow time for Sub -Stan- <br />dards Division to contact owner. <br />1 <br />1 <br />
