<br />Request for owners of sub -standard properties to appear before Board 5/25/70
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried,the Board approved the re-
<br />quest of the Sub -Standards Director for owners of the following sub -standard
<br />properties to appear before the Board on May 25, 1970, to show cause, if any
<br />they have, why the following properties should not be demolished:
<br />1022 S. Franklin Street Ruth Jones
<br />717 S. Arnold Street Francis E. Doseman
<br />1613 S. Leer Street Lottie K. King
<br />1033 Hudson Street Mrs.(Swank)Rueter
<br />And the Clerk was directed to no notify said owners by certified mail.
<br />1033 Hudson Street. The complaint of Mrs. Marilyn Prue, 1236 Woodward
<br />Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, and 60 others concerning the condition of the
<br />property at 1033 Hudson Street was filed with the Board and referred to the
<br />Sub -Standards Department for investigation and report.
<br />30 COMPVAINT - MRS, JOSEPH FISHER
<br />Mrs. Joseph Fisher, 2918 Bonds Street, South Bend, Indiana, appeared before
<br />Q the Board and registered her complaint concerning curb damage caused by the
<br />Street Department in removing snow and concerning sewer stoppage.,
<br />RECOMMENDATION.O F ENGINEERING PLANNING SERVICES, INC. - WASHINGTON AVENUE SEWER
<br />Engineering Planning Services, Inc., filed its recommendation on bids received
<br />May 4, 1970, for the construction of a sanitary sewer in Washington Avenue,
<br />from Niles Avenue to the St. Joseph River, showing the low bidder to be
<br />Bradberry Brothers Construction Company on its bid of $15,363.00. Award of
<br />contract was held in abeyance untileasement has been finalized.
<br />REQUEST TO PAVE GERTRUDE STREET - G. FRED DITTMAN
<br />The request of G. Fred Dittman, 2111 Gertrude Street, South Bend, Indiana,
<br />under date of May 11, 1970, to pave Gertrude Street was filed with the Board,
<br />and, upon motion made, seconded and carried, the request was referred to the
<br />City Engineer for study and recommendation.
<br />RECOMMENDATION OF CITY ENGINEER AND ORDER FOR PRELIMINARY PLANS ESTIMATES
<br />AND IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION - BEALE STREET SEWER
<br />The City Engineer files his recommendation that the petition filed January 19,
<br />1970, by John Richards and four others for the improvement of Beale Street,
<br />from Cushing to Riverside, by constructing a local sewer, be granted, and,
<br />upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board directs Clyde
<br />E. Williams and Associates, Inc., consulting engineers, to prepare preliminary
<br />plans, estimates and improvement resolution for said improvement.
<br />ADOPTION OF VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3314, 1970 - SOUTH BEND RANGE CORPORATION
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the following resolution
<br />was adopted:
<br />"VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3314, 1970
<br />RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY
<br />OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, That it is desirable to vacate the following:
<br />Part of Napier Street, located immediately south of
<br />and adjacent to Lot 32 as shown in John F. Kirby's
<br />Subdivision of Bank Out Lot 83.
<br />Part of Cherry Street, beginning at the northwest
<br />corner of Lot 37 of John F. Kirby's Subdivision
<br />of Bank Out Lot 83; thence north to the northwest
