<br />AREA PLAN COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION - MIDWEST TURNKEY BUILDERS, INC (ALLEY)
<br />On the petition of Midwest Turnkey Builders, Inc., for the vacation of a 12 foot
<br />east -west alley, lying between Dubai] Avenue on the north and Calvert Street on the
<br />south and running east from the east line -of Carlisle Street to the west line of
<br />the first north -south 14 foot alley and running from the west line of Warren Street
<br />west to the east line of the first north -south 14 foot alley, Area Plan Commission
<br />recommends the vacation and the petition is referred to the Engineering De-
<br />partment for the preparation of a Vacation Resolution.
<br />REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF POTAWATOMIE PARK DISPLAY BARN
<br />The motion was made, seconded and unanimously carried for the Board of Public
<br />Works and Safety to seek bids on behalf of the Park Department for the
<br />construction of Potawatomie Park display barn, and the Clerk was directed to
<br />give notice by publication in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri County News
<br />on May 1 and May 8, 1970, for bids to be received on May 18, 1970, at 10:00
<br />A.M., 1308 County City Building.
<br />CLYDE CREEK WATERSHED STUDY - CHANGE IN AGREEMENT OF 3/24/69
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved the
<br />deletion of Article 19-A, paragraph 2,-from the engineering agreement dated
<br />March 24, 1969, between the City of South Bend, through its Board of Public
<br />Works and Safety and Clyde E. Williams & Associates, Inc,.
<br />SEWER EXTENSION - CLEVELAND ROAD TO LILAC ROAD
<br />It was moved, seconded and carried to approve the proposal of Kent S. Kaser
<br />Engineer, 1704 Crestwood Boulevard, South Bend, Indiana, for preparing detailed
<br />plans and specifications for the construction of a sani-tary sewer in Cleveland
<br />Road from the existing sewer- now terminating at the westerly city limits west
<br />for approximately 700 feet at 9.75% of the project construction cost, subject
<br />to submission of the terms on Form 97-a. Mr. Crumpacker abstained from voting.
<br />REQUEST OF SEARS ROEBUCK TO REMOVE FIRE HYDRANT - FIRE DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDATION
<br />Fire Chief Joseph L. Zurat recommends that the fire hydrant located at the
<br />corner of Franklin Street and the alley (recently vacated) being-#n:a:-strategic
<br />position for service to surrounding buildings, not be removed. Chief Zurat
<br />was requested by the Board to contact Sears, Roebuck & Company to see if a
<br />solution could be worked out.
<br />ROSEMARY LANE SEWER EXTENSION --CONTRACT SIGNED
<br />Contract for the construction of a sewage lift station and sanitary sewer in
<br />Rosemary Lane, from the existing sewer north of Hartman Drive to Charles Street
<br />having been awarded to Dye Plumbing and Heating Company on April 20, 1970, was
<br />signed by the Board and ordered filed, with a copy to the City Engineer and a
<br />copy to Pharis-Kaser and Associates.

<br />NOTICE OF HEARING
<br />ALLEY BETWEEN HOLLYWOOD PLACE AND INGLEWOOD PLACE
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approves the.
<br />plans and specifications filed by the consulting engineer Clyde E. Williams
<br />Associates, Inc., and adopts Improvement Resolution No. 3311, 1970, for the
<br />of the alley between Hollywood Place and Inglewood Place, from Woodlawn to
<br />Oakwood, by constructing a Class C, Type I, concrete pavement.

<br />May 20, 1970, at 7:30 P.M., Room 1308 County City Building, is set as the time
<br />and place for receiving remonstrances and hearing all persons whose property
<br />may be affected by such proposed improvement. And the Clerk is directed to
<br />give notice of such hearing by publication in the South Bend Tribune and the
<br />Tri County News on May 1, and May 8, 1970.

<br />Notre. Dame to St. Peter Street, by constructing a Class C, Type I, pavement.
