5 <br />3/23/70 <br />CONTRACTS AWARDED FOR STREET MATERIALS <br />Bids having been received on March 9, 1970, for the following street materials: <br />Item #1 - 35,000 tons hot asphaltic concrete <br />Item #2 12,000 tons limestone aggregate <br />Item #3 - 275,000 gallons emulsified asphalt <br />Item #4 - 220,000 gallons dust control oil <br />Item #5 .: 40,000 tons various gravels and ice control sand <br />Item #6 - 900 tons street patching material (no bids received) <br />Item #7 - 250 cu. yds. Ready -Mix concrete (Class A) <br />100 cu. yds. April 6, 1970, was set as the <br />date for receiving bids, and the Clerk was directed to give notice by <br />publication in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri County News on March 27 <br />and April 3, 1970. <br />WITHDRAWAL OF PETITION TO VACATE A PORTION OF HYDRAULIC AVE. - MILL RACE INC. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved the <br />request of Mill Race, Inc., to withdraw its petition to vacate a portion of <br />Hydraulic Avenue, filed with the Board on September 22, 1969. <br />PETITION FOR ABANDONMENT OF EASEMENT - MILL RACE INC. <br />Attorney Bruce H. Stewart, as Vice President of Mill Race, Inc., filed with <br />the Board a petition to abandon an easement presently held by the City of <br />South Bend, described in said petition as being 30 feet in width located <br />southeasterly from Hydraulic Avenue and northwesterly from the west leg of <br />the east Race presently owned by Mill Race, inc. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, said petition was re- <br />ferred to the City Engineer, the City Attorney and to the Area Plan Commission <br />for study and recommendation to the Board. <br />
