Itc <br />3/9/70 <br />1.141 S. Michigan Street. Neither George nor Victoria Bernath appeared as <br />requested. Mr. Adamson reported the owners have been given a list of neces- <br />sary repairs to bring the property up to standard and that the building was <br />posted in January, 1970, as unsafe; that the building was occupied by five <br />families and they have all been relocated except one family. Upon motion <br />made, seconded and unanimously carried, permission was granted to the Sub - <br />Standards Director to seek bids for demolition of the premises at 1141 S. <br />Michigan Street. <br />751 S. Michigan Street. Mrs. Felix J. Boadway did not appear as requested. <br />Mr. Adamson reported this property has been severely damaged by fire. <br />Demolition contractor Jerry Davis, present at the meeting, stated he has a <br />contract with the owner for demolition of the structure. Upon motion made, <br />seconded and carried, the matter was continued one week to permit the owner <br />to demolish the property. <br />816 Oak Street. Mr. Adamson stated nothing further has been heard from John <br />Lamirand who appeared before the Board on February 24 and was to close the <br />property or dispose of it, and that the property is still open. Upon motion <br />made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Sub -Standards Director was granted <br />permission to seek bids for the demolition of the property at 816 Oak Street. <br />1229 E. Cedar:rStreet. Nr. Adamson reported this building is to be rehabilitated <br />and the motion was made, seconded and unanimously carried to continue the matter <br />indefinitely, and the Sub -Standards Director was directed 'to keep the property, <br />under surveillance. <br />518 S. Rush Street. Mr. Adamson reported this property is to be demolished by <br />the owner. Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the matter.was <br />continued one week. <br />1016 W. Washington. Demolition contractor Jerry Davis, present at the meeting, <br />stated he is trying to buy this property. Upon motion made, seconded and <br />unanimously carried, the matter was continued one week. <br />1143 S. Franklin Street. Upon motion.made, seconded and unanimously carried, <br />this matter was continued one week. <br />745 Frances Street. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, permission was <br />granted the Sub -Standards Director to seek bids for demolition of the structure <br />at 745 Frances Street. <br />123 N.Aackson Street. Mr. Adamson reported this bu 1ding partially closed.' <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried_, the matter was continued <br />one week, and the Sub -Standards Director was instructed to contact Clem <br />Winkowski, representative of the owner, to advise that if no action is taken <br />by the owner the structure will be taken down by the City. (Clem Winkowski <br />appeared before the Board at 11:35 A.M. and advised that the property is being <br />sold on a land contract.) <br />301 Hydraulic. Richard Muesei, owner of this property, appeared before the Board <br />and stated that the property has now been properly secured. Upon motion made, <br />seconded and unanimously carried the matter was continued until -April 13, 1970. <br />Demolition bids opened: <br />This being the date set, bids for demolition of the following properties were <br />opened. Bid bonds were examined and found to be proper. Bids being: <br />125 N. Jackson Street: <br />O'Neal.cTrucking Co. $215.00 <br />B & J Demolition Co. 395.00 <br />Bryant Excavating Co. 260.00 <br />A & J Demolition Co. 310.00 <br />Midwest Demolition Co. 249.00 <br />It was moved, seconded and unanimously carried that contract for demolition <br />of the premises at 125 N.
