September 5, 1972 A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works and Safety convened at 9:30 A.M., on Tuesday, September 5, 1972. All members were present. Minutes of the last meeting were reviewed and approved. FIRE DEPARTMENT Chief Bland was present at the meeting and matters pertaining to his department were discussed. APPLICATIONS FOR FIRE DEPARTMENT Applications for the Fire Department were approved and ordered sent to the Personnel Department for: Lawrence Richard Sopcyznski Denis Dean Valdinocci Paul John Rakeck.i RETIREMENT OF MARVTN M4LEWSO Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the application for retirement for Marvin M.i.lewski was accepted with regret. The Clerk was instructed to write to Mr. Milewski to express appreciation for his years of service to the community. RETIREMENT OF FIREFIGHTER STANLEY G. OLEJNiCZAK t� Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the application for retirement of Stanley G. Olejniczak was accepted with regret. The Clerk was in- structed to write to Mr. Olejniczak and express appreciation for his i� long years of service to the community. POLICE DEPARTMENT The following letter was presented: August 29, 1972 Board of Public Works and Safety County City Building South Bend, Indiana Gentlemen: During my absence while on vacation, from Thursday, August. 31, 1972, through Thursday, September 7, 1972, Division Chief Donald P. Parker Gentlemen: Due to a change in personal plans, Cadet Edward R. Parker has submitted his resignation from the.Cadet Program.
