414 <br />8/14/72 <br />AMENDED ASSESSMENT ROLL - BEALE STREET <br />Comes now William J. Richardson, City Engineer, and files an amended <br />Assessment Roll for the construction of a sewer on Beale Street. Upon <br />motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the amended <br />assessment. <br />ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION RE; ASSESSMENT ROLL 2960 - BEALE STREET <br />RESOLUTION NO. 10, 8/14/72 <br />A RESOLUTION ALLOWING CERTAIN PROPERTY <br />OWNERS WHOSE NAMES APPEAR ON AMENDED <br />ASSESSMENT ROLL NO. 2960 THE RIGHT TO <br />PAY THEIR ASSESSMENTS IN FIVE YEARLY <br />UST ALLMENTS <br />WHEREAS, certain extraordinary circumstances have necessitated <br />amending Assessment Roll No. 2960 which had been drawn to pay the cost <br />of the Beale Street sewer project; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Pub4bic Works and Safety is vested <br />with the authority to fix and determine the time within which general <br />improvement assessments may be paid, provided such time shall not <br />exceed five years. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public Works <br />and Safety of the City of South Bend, Indiana; <br />SECTION 1. That the following property owners whose names <br />appear on Amended Assessment roll No. 2960 shall have the right to pay <br />their assessments in five (5) annual equal installments, with interest <br />at the rate of six (60/,) per cent per annum; <br />(1) Ronald B. & Mary L. Golden <br />(2) Charles & Marilyn Maternowski <br />(3) Burton L. Cebulski, Jr. <br />(4) Marie's., Martin A. & Robert P. Sullivan <br />SECTION 11'. That those of the above property owners who <br />should so desire to defer their assessments in this manner shall have <br />the right to execute a waiver to that effect when notified of their <br />assessments by the Barrett Law Clerk. <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY <br />s/ Charles A. Richardson <br />A remonstrance was filed against the original assessment and the Engineer <br />has determined that the assessments were excessive, that is the reason <br />for -the amended Resolution and the Assessment roll. <br />LEASE AGREEMENT FOR PART OF MILL RACE TO AAYS RENT -ALL COMPANY <br />The Legal Department presented a form of lease between the City.of <br />South Bend and the AAys Rent -all Company for a part of the East <br />Mill Race. This was referred to the Mayor's office for the Mayor's <br />signature. <br />PART PAYMENT SLUTSKY-PELTZ PLUMBING it HEARING - MORRIS CIVIC AUDITORIUM <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved a partial <br />payment to the Slutsky-Peitz Plumbing & Heating Company for work done <br />on the Morris Civic Auditorium, in the amount of 30,888.00.. <br />
