July 24, 1972 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of <br />at 9:30 A.M. on Monday, July 24, <br />Minutes of the last meeting were <br />FARE DEPARTMENT <br />Public Works and Safety convened <br />1972. All members were present. <br />read and approved. <br />APPLICATIONS FOR FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />Applications for the Fire Department were received and ordered filed <br />with the Personnel Department for: <br />Thomas M. Schultz Maurice Stoffelan <br />Frederick J. Jaronik Jack Lee Cahall <br />BIDS FOR UNIFORMS AND UNIFORM EOUIPMENT - CONTRACT AWARDED <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the bid of Gerber <br />Manufacturing Company, received on July 17, 1972 was awarded for Uni- <br />forms and Uniform equipment for the Fire Department for a period of <br />d� August 1, 1972 to August 1, 1973. <br />r-� <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />U <br />APPLICATIONS FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />Applications for the Police Department were receilved and ordered filed <br />with the Personnel Department for: <br />Richard W. Badics Vincent R. Laurita <br />Richard D. Coddens,Jr. Donald Theodore Van Hulle <br />BIDS FOR UNIFORMS AND UNIFORM EQUIPMENT - BID AWARDED <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the bid of Gerber Manufactur- <br />ing Company, received on July 17, 1972 was awarded for Uniforms and <br />Uniform Equipment for the Police Department for a period from July 1, <br />1972 to July 1, 1973. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT - SUB STANDARDS DIVISION <br />Mr. Isaiah Steed, Sub -Standards Director, appeared before theBoard and <br />matters pertaining to his department were discussed. <br />1135 East Madison At the request of Mr. Steed, upon motion made, seconded <br />and carried, this matter was continued for one week, Leo E. & Mary M. <br />Ritchey, having written to say they would be out of town until then. The <br />Clerk of the Board was instructed to write to Mr. & Mrs. Ritchey requesting <br />that they appear before the Board on July 31, 1972. <br />1207 West Jefferson J. & G. Insurance & Realey Company, 1218 West <br />Washington Street has informed the Board that they are having the <br />structure demolished privately. Mr. Steed was requested to Deep the <br />property under surveillance to see it is properly finished. <br />612 West LaSalle Mr. Steed informed the Board that the owner is working <br />on the building at 612 West LaSalle and he will keep it under surveillance. <br />428 North Main Street Mr. Steed informed the Board that this building <br />is owned by Myers Hardware and they are fixing it up to use as a store <br />house. <br />522 Leland Avenue Mr. Steed requested permission to have the owners <br />of the structure at 522 Leland Avenue appear before the Board on August <br />7, 1972 to show cause why the structure should not be demolished. <br />RANDOLPH STREET PROPERTY Mr. Steed inquired about thepossibility of <br />demolishing the structures on Randolph Street in the retention Basis <br />area. He was directed to learn if the Fire Department has finished <br />using the houses for training, and if so was authorized to seek bids <br />for the demolition of the houses. <br />1123 East Donald Mr. Steed was directed to requested the owners to <br />appear before the Board to show cause why the house should not be <br />demolished. <br />
