July 24, 1972 A regular meeting of the Board of at 9:30 A.M. on Monday, July 24, Minutes of the last meeting were FARE DEPARTMENT Public Works and Safety convened 1972. All members were present. read and approved. APPLICATIONS FOR FIRE DEPARTMENT Applications for the Fire Department were received and ordered filed with the Personnel Department for: Thomas M. Schultz Maurice Stoffelan Frederick J. Jaronik Jack Lee Cahall BIDS FOR UNIFORMS AND UNIFORM EOUIPMENT - CONTRACT AWARDED Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the bid of Gerber Manufacturing Company, received on July 17, 1972 was awarded for Uni- forms and Uniform equipment for the Fire Department for a period of d� August 1, 1972 to August 1, 1973. r-� POLICE DEPARTMENT U APPLICATIONS FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT Applications for the Police Department were receilved and ordered filed with the Personnel Department for: Richard W. Badics Vincent R. Laurita Richard D. Coddens,Jr. Donald Theodore Van Hulle BIDS FOR UNIFORMS AND UNIFORM EQUIPMENT - BID AWARDED Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the bid of Gerber Manufactur- ing Company, received on July 17, 1972 was awarded for Uniforms and Uniform Equipment for the Police Department for a period from July 1, 1972 to July 1, 1973. BUILDING DEPARTMENT - SUB STANDARDS DIVISION Mr. Isaiah Steed, Sub -Standards Director, appeared before theBoard and matters pertaining to his department were discussed. 1135 East Madison At the request of Mr. Steed, upon motion made, seconded and carried, this matter was continued for one week, Leo E. & Mary M. Ritchey, having written to say they would be out of town until then. The Clerk of the Board was instructed to write to Mr. & Mrs. Ritchey requesting that they appear before the Board on July 31, 1972. 1207 West Jefferson J. & G. Insurance & Realey Company, 1218 West Washington Street has informed the Board that they are having the structure demolished privately. Mr. Steed was requested to Deep the property under surveillance to see it is properly finished. 612 West LaSalle Mr. Steed informed the Board that the owner is working on the building at 612 West LaSalle and he will keep it under surveillance. 428 North Main Street Mr. Steed informed the Board that this building is owned by Myers Hardware and they are fixing it up to use as a store house. 522 Leland Avenue Mr. Steed requested permission to have the owners of the structure at 522 Leland Avenue appear before the Board on August 7, 1972 to show cause why the structure should not be demolished. RANDOLPH STREET PROPERTY Mr. Steed inquired about thepossibility of demolishing the structures on Randolph Street in the retention Basis area. He was directed to learn if the Fire Department has finished using the houses for training, and if so was authorized to seek bids for the demolition of the houses. 1123 East Donald Mr. Steed was directed to requested the owners to appear before the Board to show cause why the house should not be demolished.
