U REQUEST FOR YOUTH CONCERT The following letter was presented: YOUTH ADVOCACY PROGRAM 509 West Washington July 12, 1972 Board of Public Works City County Building 13th Floor South Bend, Indiana Dear Sir: I am writing in interest of being placed on the agenda for the next meeting of the Board of Public Works and Safety. Our interest is closing West Washington Avenue from Camden Street West to Falcon Street during the hours of 1:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. on the afternoon of Sunday, July 30. Please find enclosed copy of our program proposal for the peoples youth concert to be held in LaSalle Park adjacent to Washington Avenue on the North. it is the contention of the concert planners that human traffic from South of Washington Avenue along with cars parked along the street would cause danger especially to youngsters if the "hot rod" traffic that usually is present on this stretch of Washington Avenue is not curtailed. So far the enclosed proposal has been received and approved by: Mr. Boehm and Mr. Goodrich of the Recreation Department; The Board of Park Commissioners, and Uniform Division Chief Foy S.B.P.D.
