5/22/72 319 1 the Department of Public Works to prepare the plans, specifications, cost estimates, secure the necessary right - of way, permits, appropriations, and to seek bids for and to construct said Main Steet and Chippewa Avenue improvement. Richardson, Member ATTEST: s/ Freda G4 Noble, Clerk RESOLUTION NO. 5 - 5/22/72 WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works and Safety has found it necessary in the best interest of the publis health and welfare to construct a sanitary sewer along the north side of Cleveland Road from the end of the existing sewer west to the intersection of said Cleveland Road and Maple Road, all in German Township, St. Joseph County, Indiana, and WHEREAS, it is in.the best interest of the City of South Bend to install this -sewer prior to the reconsttuction of said Cleveland Road by the Board of Commissioners of said St. Joseph County, and WHEREAS, the Cumulative Sewer, Building and Sinking Fund has been created by the Common Council of the City of South Bend to fund projects of this type, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Public Works and Safety orders the Department of Public Works to prepare the plans, specifications, cost estimates, secure the necessary right-of-way, permits, appropriations, and to seek bids for and to construct said Cleveland Road Sanitary Sewer. Noble, Clerk CONTRACTS SIGNED FOR MORRIS CIVIC AUDITORIUM ALTERATIONS Contracts were signed for the General Construction, Electr.1c and Plumbing and Heating work to be done on the Morris Civic Auditorium as follows: General Construction: Aulm Construction Co. $41,088.00 Electrical Construction: Ideal Consolidated Co. 12,642.00 Mechanical Construction: Slutsky-Peitz Plbg.& Htg. 209,476.00 COMPLAINT OF MRS. JANET ALLEN ON PEOPLE'S WEEKLY NEWSTAND Mrs. Janet Allen complained about a newstand for the People's Weekly which was on the corner of Main and Washington Streets, and is a hazard. The Board directed the Chief of Police to investigate.
