� e O May 15, 1972 A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works and Safety convened on Monday, May 15, 1972. All members were present. Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. FIRE DEPARTMENT Applications for the Fire Department were filed and directed to the attention to the Personnel Director, for the following: Bert Ronald Prawat Federico Rodrigues Michael b. Kalka Robert James Orszulak Lawrence Edward Dyguiski Chief Bland appeared before the Board and presented the following letters: DEMOTION OF LT, THOMAS JOZWIAK May 10, 1972 Fire Chief Jack R. Bland South Bend Fire Department 701 West Sample Street South Bend, Indiana 46601 Dear Chief Bland: Since January 1, 1972, 1 have been assigned to.Ambo Unit 134 for the South Bend Fire Department and have found that this particular duty has not met with my satisfaction in that I feel that I could better support the total overall function of the fire service in the City of South Bend in a different capacity than what I am doing at present. Therefore, 1 am requesting your consideration that I be reduced from my present assignment as lieutenant and be reassigned within the department ina position where my con- tribution can, in fact, be greater. i would appreciate your consideration in this matter. Thomas Joziak Honorable Members of the Board: in conjunction with the letter submitted this rate from Lt. Thomas Jozwiak, I recommend that we accept his resignation from the rank of lieutenant and that he be reassigned within the department as an engineer with the appropriate company.
