5/8/72
nn
J
1
May 8, 1972
Dear Sir:
The church I pastor is a part of the Seventh -day Adventist organization.
Each summer we sponsor a opportunity camp. The Conference owns a camp
in Cassopolis, Mic., where children from low income families are sent
during the summer.
The ladies of the church sponsor a Darcus Society to aid in relief of
disaster such as fire, storm etc.
Our summer activity consists of a community involvment which is a
person to person witness program. With this a tent is used in which
a children's morning arts and crafts classes are held. Also there are
character building classes with a spiritual emphasis. In the evening
there are adult meetings held for a hour and a half. The summer programs
lasts for about eight weeks.
The tent is fire -proofed and rock gravel is used on the ground.
This information is submitted to explain our work and request per-
mission to erect a 40 x 60 tent. The lots are in the city Auditor's
hand because of back taxes. The lots are located on the corner of
Keasey and Carroll Streets.
Respectfully yours,
s/ Roy Bellinger, Jr., Pastore
Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the above matter was referred
to the legal Department for study.
STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORTS
Street light outage reports were ordered filed for the period of
4/27/72 to 5/3/72.
There being no further business to come
was adjourned at 11:50 A.M.
ATTEST: Q / 2
Clerk
:for the Board, the meeting
Che►1 es A ne Jr.
Willi .
