And the Clerk is ordered to notify the Park Depart- <br />ment of this action. <br />DEPARTMENT OF REDEVELOPMENT - REQUESTS <br />A letter from Glenn Barbe, Associate Director, Department of'RedeVelop- <br />ment, requesting that the appropriate city agency investigate the <br />possibility of vacating the unused railroad tracks along Niles <br />Avenue was ordered filed with the Board. William J. Richardson, City <br />Engineer, advised the Board this his department is pursuing this <br />possibility, and that action will betaken on this matter in the near. <br />future. <br />Another letter addressed to the Board from Mr. Barbe requested that the <br />City clean and dress up its property along Niles Avenue in keeping with <br />the rehabilitation theme in the.Northeast Code Area. This property in- <br />cludes the Street Department Storage Lots. Mr. Barbels 'letter was or- <br />dered filed with the Board and Mr. Richardson advised the Board that <br />these lots are now in the process of being cleaned up. It was sug- <br />gested that Mr. James Barcome, City Controller, look into the possi- <br />bility of auctioning the old parts and vehicles that are stored on <br />the property. <br />VACATION PETITION FILED - LOUIS E. SMOGOR <br />Louis E. Smogor and Klementene K. Smogor, by their attorney, George P. <br />Roberts, 811 J.M.S. Building, South Bend, Indiana, file their petition <br />for the vacation of an unnamed street running north from East Edison <br />Road and located adjacent to the property commonly known as 2109 East <br />Edison Road, South Bend, Indiana, and more particularly described as a <br />line adjacent to and immediately west of Lots Numbered 1, 9, 10, and 11 <br />as shown on the recorded plat of Robinwood Place, a Subdivision in the <br />East Half of the Southeast Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of the <br />Southeast Quarter of Section 31, Township 38 North, Range 3 East, re- <br />corded in Plat Book 14, Page R. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the petition was <br />referred to the Engineering Department and the Area Plan Commission, <br />simultaneously, for study and recommendation to the Board. <br />AREA PLAN RECOMMENDATION _ - PETITION OF INDIANA & MICHIGAN ELECTRIC CO. <br />The Area Plan Commission, Howard Bellinger, Executive Director, files <br />with the Board its favorable recommendation for the vacation of the <br />following: <br />A part of the first north -south alley west of Ironwood <br />Drive, running south 133.45' from the south right of <br />way line of the Grand Trunk and Western Railroad, <br />said petition having been submitted by the Indiana & Michigan Electric <br />Company. Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board <br />approved the favorable recommendation of the Area Plan Commission, and <br />the City Engineer is directed to prepare a Vacation Resolution. <br />ASSESSMENT ROLL FILED - VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3356, 1972 <br />William J.
