<br />REQUEST FROM FLAGS INTERNATIONAL TO MOUNT FLAG POLE ON PARKING METER
<br />The request of Flags; international, Michael E, Tancey, Jr., President,
<br />on behalf of the Gates Chevrolet Corporation, 333 W. Western Avenue,
<br />South Bend, Indiana to mount a temporary flag pole outfit on a parking
<br />meter located in front of the Gates Chevrolet -Corporation for the pur-
<br />pose of flying the United States Flag on "Flag Holidays" during the
<br />summer was referred, upon motion made, seconded and carried, to the
<br />Traffic Division of the Engineering Department for study and recom-
<br />mendation to the Board.
<br />A letter from the Planning and Development Action Team, Inc., 136 S,
<br />Chapin Street, South Bend, Indiana regarding their interest in purchasing
<br />a vacant city -owned lot described as Lot 59, Cobb's Subdivision, Key No.
<br />4-01-18/27-1193, was filed with the Board and ordered referred to the
<br />114 Legal Department for the purpose of diarying said lot for disposal.
<br />10 SWEEPER AGREEMENT WITH INDIANA STATE HIGHWAY COMMISSION FILED

<br />U William J. Richardson, City Engineer, files with the Board a Sweeper
<br />Agreement No. 20985 between the City of South Bend and the Indiana State
<br />Highway Commission for sweeping 29.6 curb miles of streets to be used
<br />in the Plymouth Sub -district of the Indiana State Highway Commission.
<br />LETTER FROM KENT S. KASER RE: CLEVELAND ROAD SEWER EXTENSION
<br />A letter from Kent S. Kaser, Professional Engineer, 1704 Crestwood Blvd.,
<br />South Bend, Indiana regarding a proposal for the Cleveland Road Sewer
<br />Extension, providing engineering services for extending the existing
<br />21-inch sanitary trunk sewer which now terminates approximately 417
<br />feet west of the centerline of Parkview Street was filed with the Board
<br />and said proposal approved.
<br />REQUEST OF MICHIANA WATERSHED, INC, TO USE LEEPER PARK AS A STARTING
<br />POINT FOR CANOE RACE
<br />Michiana Watershed, Inc., St. Joseph County Chapter, Donald Sporieder,
<br />President, P.O. Box 1284, South Bend, Indiana, 46614 files with the
<br />Board its request to use Leeper Park as the starting point for their
<br />annual canoe race down the St. Joseph River on May 13, 1972. Upon mo-
<br />tion made, seconded and carried, said request was approved by the Board.
<br />REQUEST OF WALLACE PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN FOR TUESDAY, APRIL 18, 1972
<br />Mr. Charles Carman, Staff Member of the Wallace Presidential Campaign,
<br />appeared before the Board and submitted the following requests:
<br />Permission to pass out hand bills advertising the Wallace
<br />Rally which will be held on April 18, 1972 at the Morris
<br />Civic Auditorium.
<br />In case of an over -flow crowd, permission to set up sound
<br />equipment -on the outside of the Morris Civic Auditorium
<br />to allow people to hear the speaches.
<br />Upon motion made,,seconded and carried, this matter was referred to the
<br />Department of Law to allow Mr. Sweeney to research the City Ordinances
<br />pertaining to these subjects. Mr. Sweeney advised Mr. Carman that he
<br />would be notified later in the day as to the approval or denial of these
<br />requests.
<br />REQUEST OF JAMES B. BEAM DISTILLING COMPANY TO DISPLAY MOBILE BILLBOARD
<br />Mr. Dan Reasor, 1329 Rockne Drive, South Bend, Indiana appeared on behalf
<br />of the James B. Beam Distilling Company and requested permission for that
