1 April 17, 1972 A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works and Safety convened at 9:30 A.M. on Monday, April 17, 1972 with all members present. Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. POLICE DEPARTMENT - CHIEF ROBERT W. SEALS Chief Seals was present at the meeting and the following matters pertaining to his department were taken up: Accident Investigation Report The South Bend Police Department Accident investigation Report for the month of March, 1972 was ordered filed with the Board. Request to Reinstate Cadet Thomas E. Koehler into Cadet Program Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the recommendation of Chief Seals to reinstate Cadet'Thomas E. Koehler into the South -Bend Police Cadet Program was approved. Cadet Koehler had been granted a leave of absence by the Hoard of Public Works and Safety on October 15, 1971 to complete a tour of duty with the United States Military. This tour of duty is now completed. Request to Enter Three Solo Motorcycles in Mishawaka Memorial Day Parade Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the recommendation of Chief Seals to accept an invitation to enter three solo motorcycles in the Mishawaka Memorial Day -Parade to be held on Monday, May 29, 1972, beginning at 9:30 A.M. was approved by the Board. Resignation of Police Cadet Kelly B..Robbins The recommendation of Chief Seals to accept the resignation of Kelly B. Robbins from the South Bend Police Cadet Program effective April 16, 1972 was approved by the Board upon motion made, seconded and carried. BUILDING DEPARTMENT - SUB -STANDARDS DIVISION Richard B. Liszewski, Sub -Standards Division Director, appeared before the Board and the following matters were taken up: 516 W. Indiana Avenue Mr. Liszewski advised the Board that the owners of the property has pro- mised on 1/25/72 to have the building demolished privately. Nothing has been done to this property to date. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Sub -Standards Division was authorized to seek bids for the demolition of the structure at 516 W. Indiana Avenue. 622 Euclid Avenue Mr. Liszewskl having permission from the owners, the Sub -Standards Division was authorized to seek bids for the demolition of the structure at 622 Euclid Avenue, upon motion made, seconded and carried. 524 S. Fellows Street Mr. Liszewski also having permission from the owners for the demolition of this structure, upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Sub - Standards Division was authorized to seek bids for the demolition of the structure at 524 S. Fellows Street.
