1 <br />April 17, 1972 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works and Safety convened at 9:30 <br />A.M. on Monday, April 17, 1972 with all members present. Minutes of the <br />last meeting were read and approved. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT - CHIEF ROBERT W. SEALS <br />Chief Seals was present at the meeting and the following matters pertaining <br />to his department were taken up: <br />Accident Investigation Report <br />The South Bend Police Department Accident investigation Report for the <br />month of March, 1972 was ordered filed with the Board. <br />Request to Reinstate Cadet Thomas E. Koehler into Cadet Program <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the recommendation of Chief Seals <br />to reinstate Cadet'Thomas E. Koehler into the South -Bend Police Cadet <br />Program was approved. Cadet Koehler had been granted a leave of absence <br />by the Hoard of Public Works and Safety on October 15, 1971 to complete <br />a tour of duty with the United States Military. This tour of duty is <br />now completed. <br />Request to Enter Three Solo Motorcycles in Mishawaka Memorial Day Parade <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the recommendation of Chief Seals <br />to accept an invitation to enter three solo motorcycles in the Mishawaka <br />Memorial Day -Parade to be held on Monday, May 29, 1972, beginning at <br />9:30 A.M. was approved by the Board. <br />Resignation of Police Cadet Kelly B..Robbins <br />The recommendation of Chief Seals to accept the resignation of Kelly B. <br />Robbins from the South Bend Police Cadet Program effective April 16, <br />1972 was approved by the Board upon motion made, seconded and carried. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT - SUB -STANDARDS DIVISION <br />Richard B. Liszewski, Sub -Standards Division Director, appeared before <br />the Board and the following matters were taken up: <br />516 W. Indiana Avenue <br />Mr. Liszewski advised the Board that the owners of the property has pro- <br />mised on 1/25/72 to have the building demolished privately. Nothing has <br />been done to this property to date. Upon motion made, seconded and <br />carried, the Sub -Standards Division was authorized to seek bids for the <br />demolition of the structure at 516 W. Indiana Avenue. <br />622 Euclid Avenue <br />Mr. Liszewskl having permission from the owners, the Sub -Standards <br />Division was authorized to seek bids for the demolition of the structure <br />at 622 Euclid Avenue, upon motion made, seconded and carried. <br />524 S. Fellows Street <br />Mr. Liszewski also having permission from the owners for the demolition <br />of this structure, upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Sub - <br />Standards Division was authorized to seek bids for the demolition of <br />the structure at 524 S. Fellows Street. <br />
