1/24/72 Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Clerk was directed to write to Television Communications Corporation relating the information that a franchise has been award ed for a twenty year period. LETTER FROM MICHIANA ENVIRONMENTAL COUNCIL The following letter was received by theBoard: 15 January 1972 Board of Public Works and Safety City of South Bend, Indiana County City Building South Bend, Indiana 46601 Gentlemen: Thank you for your help on our "Clean=ln" on 6 November, 1971. Our joint efforts netted about 10 tons of recyclable trash and leaves on that day. Although this is just a drop in the bucket, it did demonstrate that recycling can be a feasible solution to the solid waste problem. Again thank you for your concern. HOLIDAY SCHEDULE FOR CITY EMPLOYEES The Board Directed the City Attorney to draw up a schedule of holidays for City Employees for presentation at the next meeting. MAINTENANCE BOND FOR PLACE & COMPANY - PORTAGE PLACE APARTMENTS The following bond was presented and upon motion made, seconded and carried, was approved. Place & Company,lncfor three years from date of final acceptance of work. SOLLITT CONSTRUCTION COMPANY - PROGRESS CLAIM Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved Sollitt Construction Company Progress Claim #3 in the amount of $180,000.00. EXCAVATION BOND Upon motion made, seconded and carried the Board approved an Excavation Bond for Norman W. Colimer to December 31, 1972. STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORTS Street light outage reports for the period of 1/7/72 to 1/19/72 were ordered filed.
