1/24/72 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Clerk was directed to write <br />to Television Communications Corporation relating the information that <br />a franchise has been award ed for a twenty year period. <br />LETTER FROM MICHIANA ENVIRONMENTAL COUNCIL <br />The following letter was received by theBoard: <br />15 January 1972 <br />Board of Public Works and Safety <br />City of South Bend, Indiana <br />County City Building <br />South Bend, Indiana 46601 <br />Gentlemen: <br />Thank you for your help on our "Clean=ln" on 6 November, 1971. Our <br />joint efforts netted about 10 tons of recyclable trash and leaves on <br />that day. Although this is just a drop in the bucket, it did demonstrate <br />that recycling can be a feasible solution to the solid waste problem. <br />Again thank you for your concern. <br />JEK/kk <br />Very truly yours, <br />s/ John E. Fisher, President <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board ordered the letter <br />filed. <br />HOLIDAY SCHEDULE FOR CITY EMPLOYEES <br />The Board Directed the City Attorney to draw up a schedule of holidays for <br />City Employees for presentation at the next meeting. <br />MAINTENANCE BOND FOR PLACE & COMPANY - PORTAGE PLACE APARTMENTS <br />The following bond was presented and upon motion made, seconded and <br />carried, was approved. <br />Place & Company,lncfor three years from date of final <br />acceptance of work. <br />SOLLITT CONSTRUCTION COMPANY - PROGRESS CLAIM <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved <br />Sollitt Construction Company Progress Claim #3 in the amount of $180,000.00. <br />EXCAVATION BOND <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried the Board approved an Excavation <br />Bond for Norman W. Colimer to December 31, 1972. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORTS <br />Street light outage reports for the period of 1/7/72 to 1/19/72 were ordered <br />filed. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting <br />adjourned at 11:56 A.M. n <br />J yf <br />Liam J.
