135 <br />11/29/71 <br />223 N. Johnson Street. Ervin J. Cudowski appeared before the Board and <br />stated he -and his wife have decided to let the City demolish the property. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Sub -Standards <br />Director -was authorized to seek bids for demolition of the structure at <br />223 N. Johnson Street. <br />1033 Hudson Street. Mrs. Norma Reuter, owner, appeared before the Board. <br />Mr: Liszewski reported the property has been secured. Thereupon, it was <br />moved,• seconded and unanimously carried that the bids received November 8, <br />1971, for demolition of the structure at 1033 Hudson Street be rejected, <br />but that the property be kept under surveillance of the Sub -Standards <br />Department. <br />Request for sub -standard property owners to appear before the Board 12/13/71 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved the <br />request of the Sub -Standards Director for the following persons to appear <br />before the Board December 13, 1971, in reference to the sub -standard con- <br />dition of the following properties: <br />118 E. Fox Street - John J. and Sophia E. Peyton <br />730 N. Scott Street - Douglas D. Caton <br />1819 S. Kendall Street Joseph and Velma Rezutko <br />517 E. Wenger - Edgar L. and Opal Martin <br />2112 W. Roger Street - George Wozniak <br />519 E. Wenger Street - Frederick L. and Georgia Selby <br />1024-10242 W. Oak Street - Rollo C. and Nellie E. Davis & Chas. Hahn <br />3306 S. Fellows Street - Lawrence H. and Judith A. Garatoni <br />And the Clerk is directed to so notify said persons by certified mail. <br />RECOMMENDATION OF PURCHASING DEPARTMENT - GASOLINE AND FUEL OIL BIDS <br />The Purchasing Department files with the Board its analysis of the bids <br />received November 220, 1971, for gasoline and fuel oil, which was reviewed <br />by the Board. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the matter was con- <br />tinued until December 6, 1971. <br />CONTRACT AWARDED - DEMOLITION OF DWELLINGS IN RANDOLPH-SAMPSON STORM <br />WATER BASIN AREA <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, contract for demolition <br />of the six dwellings in the Randolph -Sampson Storm Water Basin Area was <br />awarded to John Vanek, 1230 Queen Street, South Bend, Indiana, on his low <br />bid of $2,200.00 on condition that demolition of the structure at 1818 <br />Randolph Street be delayed until Mr. and Mrs. Fred Goble have moved out. <br />1972 WAGE SCHEDULES - SANITATION DEPARTMENT, STREET DEPARTMENT, CITY <br />CEMETERY_ TRAFFIC DEPARTMENT AND MUNICIPAL SERVICES FACILITY <br />Amendment to the Memorandum of Understanding 5/1/70 through 4/30/73, <br />1972 wage schedule, for the Sanitation Department, Street Department, <br />City Cemetery, Traffic Department and Municipal Services Facility, now <br />signed by the Board of Public Works and Safety and by Roland A. Wardlow, <br />President of Local Union No. 364, affiliated with the International Brother- <br />hood of Teamsters, Chauffeurs, Warehousemen and Helpers of America, was <br />ordered filed, and a copy delivered to the Departments involved. <br />VACANT LOTS FOR PUBLIC PARKING <br />J. J. McNeile, Manager of Municipal Parking Garages, requests permission <br />to lease from the Department of Redevelopment the following vacant lots <br />for the purpose of developing and operating said lots for public parking: <br />Lot #1 - Old City Hall site, N. Main Street. <br />Lot #2 - Southeast corner of Michigan and LaSalle Streets. <br />Lot #3 - Southwest corner of Michigan and Western Avenue. <br />Lot #4 - Northeast corner of Wayne and Carroll Streets. <br />Mr. Taylor moved for the approval of leasing Lot designated as No. 1 as <br />requested. Mr. Crumpacker pointed out that the bond ordinance for the <br />municipal parking garages provides that the City shall not engage in or <br />encourage parking in competition with other lots and that the operation <br />of this lot for public parking would appear to be in competition with <br />
