<br />In -kind vouchers for rent for November, 1971, for Fire Stations #5 in the
<br />amount of $283.34, Fire Station #7 in the amount of $283.58 and Fire Station
<br />#8 in the amount of $283.58 submitted by A.C.T.I.O.N., Inc., were ordered
<br />filed.
<br />CHANGE ORDER NO. 2 APPROVED - WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT ADDITION
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, Change Order No. 2, Division A.
<br />Wastewater Treatment Plant Addition, for the installation of larger capacity
<br />pumps and associated motors, plumbing and wiring, at an added cost of
<br />$140,080.00, was approved. S. J. Crumpacker abstained from voting.
<br />CONTRACT SIGNED
<br />INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENT - PORTAGE AVENUE AND ELWOOD AVENUE (TOPICS PROGRAM)
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, contract with Rieth
<br />Riley Construction Company, Inc., for the improvement of the intersection at
<br />Portage and Elwood Avenues was signed by the Board, subject to the availability
<br />of funds.

<br />CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 APPROVED -
<br />INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENT - TWYCKENHAM DRIVE AND EWING AVENUE (TOPICS PROGRAM)
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, contract with Rieth
<br />Riley Construction Company, Inc., for the improvement of the intersection
<br />at Twyckenham Drive and Ewing Avenue was signed by the Board, subject to
<br />the availability of funds.
<br />Upon motion further made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved
<br />Change Order No.'l for the improvement of the intersection at Twyckenham
<br />Drive and Ewing Avenue by revising the proposed curb and pavement elevations
<br />for improvement of drainage from behind curbs, at an estimated increase in
<br />cost of $407.80.
<br />REQUEST TO HOLD ANNUAL HOLIDAY PARADE - DOWNTOWN SOUTH BEND COUNCIL
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved the
<br />request of the Downtown South Bend Council to hold its annual holiday parade
<br />on November 20, 1971, starting at Jefferson and Williams Street, proceeding
<br />east on Jefferson to Lafayette, north on Lafayette to Colfax, east on Colfax
<br />to Michigan and south on Michigan to Western.
<br />STREET LIGHT PETITION - ALLEY BETWEEN HARVEY AND BLAINE STREETS
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the petition for a street
<br />light at the alley between Harvey and Blaine Streets filed with the Board by
<br />Alvin Hagey, 516 Blain Street, South Bend, Indiana, and 14 others, was re-
<br />ferred to the Traffic Engineering Department for study and recommendation.
<br />STREET LIGHTING APPROVED
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved the
<br />following street lighting:
<br />Installation of a 7000L MV OH WP in Swanson Circle, at an added
<br />cost of $3.75 per month.
<br />Ireland Road, Michigan to Miami - Installation of 30 lights and the
<br />removal of 15 lights, at an increased cost of $82.50 per month.
<br />Old Water Works garage - The installation of four street lights
<br />around the building, at a cost of $15.00 per month.
<br />TRAFFIC REGULATION - 1700 BLOCK S. MAIN STREET
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved the
<br />recommendation of the Traffic Engineering Department to limit parking at
<br />1722 and 1724 S. Main Street to 30 minutes.
