<br />PETITION TO VACATE A PORTION OF KALEY STREET - MASTIC CORPORATION
<br />Mastic Corporation, 131 S. Taylor Street, South Bend, Indiana, by its
<br />attorney Jack C. Dunfee, Jr., files its petition to vacate Kaley Stroet
<br />from the St. Joseph, South Bend and Southern Railroad south approximftely
<br />400 feet, and deposits $75.00 for costs. Upon motion made, seconded and
<br />carri-ed, the petition was referred, simultaneously, to the Engineering De-
<br />partment and the Area Plan Commission for study and recommendation.
<br />DEDICATION - ALLEY WEST OF PORTAGE, SOUTH FROM BULLA
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved acceptance of
<br />the dedication of the north -south alley between Anderson Avenue and Portage
<br />Avenue on the east -west, and between Bulla Street and another public alley

<br />on the north -south, upon receipt of a deed of dedication. S. J. Crumpacker
<br />abstained from voting.

<br />James Hendricks, 701 S. Michigan Street, South Bend, Indiana, appeared be-
<br />fore the Board in reference thereto and will provide the Board with a deed
<br />of dedication as soon as the same is obtained. -
<br />REQUEST OF AVENUE RADIO SHOP - TO HOLD "TRUCKLOAD SALE."
<br />Having reviewed the request of the Avenue Radio Shop, it was moved, seconded
<br />and unanimously carried, that permission be granted to park a truck in
<br />front of its place of business for a "truckload sale" November 10 to
<br />November 15, 1971, on condition that the Avenue Radio .Shop pay the regular
<br />meter parking charge and that it not put advertising material on the truck.
<br />REQUEST OF ST. JOSEPH COUNTY PARK AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the letter of Billy C. Hankins,
<br />Director, St. Joseph County Park and Recreation Department, R. R. #2, Box 72A,
<br />New Carlisle, Indiana, addressed to the Board of Public Works, requesting
<br />aid of the City in testing drinking water at Bendix Woods County Park, was
<br />referred to the Water Works Board for its consideration.
<br />REQUEST TO PURCHASE PARCEL•OF LAND (MILL RACE) - AAY'S RENT -ALL COMPANY
<br />.Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the request of James W.
<br />Sharpe for Aay's Rent -All Company, 105 S. Niles Avenue, South Bend, Indiana,
<br />to purchase from the City a parcel of land to the west of Lot 157 (the old
<br />Mill Race), was denied. The Clerk was directed to advise Mr. Sharpe that
<br />the City would perhaps be agreeable to leasing this parcel of land and if
<br />interested should contact the City Legal Department.
<br />COMMUNICATION FROM IDEAL BALDONI
<br />A communication dated October 27, 1971, from Ideal Baldoni, Chairman, St.
<br />Joseph County Democratic Central Committee, South Bend, Indiana, setting
<br />out voting places owned by the City, to be used November 2, 1971, was
<br />ordered filed.
<br />TRAFFIC REGULATION APPROVED - EWING AND SAMPSON STREETS
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Board approved the
<br />recommendation of the Traffic Engineering Department to change the "yield"
<br />sign on the northwest corner of Ewing and Sampson Street to a "stop" sign.
