7/26/71 <br />41 <br />Item #1 20,000 residences - No bid. <br />Item #2 6,000 residences - C $1.65 per month per unit if <br />contractor does not provide <br />for dump. Or $112,800.00 per yr. <br />$1.95 per month per unit if contractor <br />must provide for dump. Or <br />$140,400.00 per yr. <br />Sanitas Waste Dis osal of South Bend, Inc., 17903 State Road 23, South <br />Bend, Indiana, 466,35. Non collusion affidavit was fouhd to be proper. <br />The bid was accompanied by a financial statement of bidder (Indiana State <br />Board of Accounts Form 96-a) and bid bond in the amount of 5% of the bid. <br />The bid was as follows: <br />Item #1 20,000 residences - @ $1.65 per unit per month. Or $396,000.00. <br />per yr. <br />Item #2 6,000 residences - @ $1.78 per unit per month. Or $128,160.00 <br />per yr. <br />1114 <br />e-4 <br />Mr. Sanitation, (no address given). Bid labeled "on behalf of the independent <br />in <br />trash haulers of St. Joseph County." Bid was signed "Mr. Sanitation" by <br />;-+ <br />"Max S. Bray and William C. Brown." Non collision affidavit not provided. <br />No bid bond, certified check nor bidder's financial statement (Indiana State <br />Board of Accounts Form 96-a) accompanied the bid. The bid was as follows: <br />Item #1 20,000 residences - @ $31.84 per unit per year. Or $636,829.12 <br />per yr. <br />Item #2 6,000 residences - @ $18.84 per unit per year. Or $113,040.00 <br />per yr. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the bids were referred to <br />the Engineering Department for study and recommendation. <br />BIDS OPENED - UNIFORMS FOR POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />This being the date set for receiving bids for uniforms for the South Bend <br />Police Department for the period from July 1, 1971 to July 1, 1972, the Clerk <br />tendered proofs of publication in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri County <br />News on July 16 and July 23, 1971, which were read and found to be sufficient. <br />The only/ bid received was from Gerber Manufacturing Company, 1655 E. 12th <br />Street, Mishawaka, Indiana, which was received upon delivery of the mail at <br />10:15 A.M., July 26, 1971. The bid being postmarked July 23, 1971, was <br />acceptable and was opened. Non collusion affidavit accompanied the bid, <br />together with bid bond in the amount of 10% of the bid. <br />The President of the Board stated that since the bid was by items and <br />there were approximately 60 items the bid would not be read in detail unless <br />requested but that the bid was open for inspection. No request was made that <br />the bid be read in detail.
