I June 1, 1971 A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works and Safety convened at 9:30 A.M. on June 1, 1971, with all members present. The minutes of the last meeting were reviewed and approved. BIDS OPENED - IRELAND ROAD This being the date set for receiving bids for the improvement of Ireland Road, from Michigan Street to Miami Street, the Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South Behd Tribune and the Tri County News which were read and found to be sufficient. The following bids were re- ceived. Arco Engineering Construction Corporation, 901 N. Nappanee Street, Elkhart, Indiana. Non collusion affidavit was found to be proper. The bid was accompanied by a bid bond in the amount of 5% of the bid, together with bidder's financial statement (State Board of Accounts No. 96-a). The bid was as follows: Total„ all items - $170,048.00 Alternate A - K-Mart traffic signal installation - 17,006.00 r—I 1� Total all items including Alternate A-------------- $187,054.00 Rieth=Riley Construction Co., Inc., P. 0. Box 775, South Bend, Indiana, 46624. Non collusion affidavit was found to be proper. The bid was accompanied by a bid bond in the amount of 5% of the bid, together with bidder's financial statement (State Board of Accounts No. 96-a). The bid was as follows: Total, all items - $181,183.65 Alternate A - K-Mart traffic ti;gnal installation - 17,500.00 Total all items including Alternate A ------------ $198,683.65 Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the bids were referred to Clyde E. Williams and Associates, Inc., for review and recommendation. BIDS OPENED - GASOLINE AND FUEL OIL 7/1/71 THROUGH 12/31/71 This being the date.set for receiving bids for: Item #1 - 60,000 gallons, more or less, regular gasoline. Item #2 - 130,000 gallons, more or less, diesel fuel #1 and diesel fuel #2 (about 50% for heating purposes and 50% diesel fuel). for the period July 1, 1971 through December 31, 1971, the Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri County News on May 21 and May 28, 1971, which were read and found to be sufficient. The following bids were received: Atlantic Richfield Company, 155 N. Wacker Drive, Chicago, Illinois, 60606. Non collusion affidavit was found to be proper. The bid was accompanied by check No. 11352 of the Atlantic Richfield Company in the amount of $2,000.00. The bid was as follows: Item #1 - 60,000 gal. Atlantic Richfield Arco Gasoline tank wagon lots, plus applicable taxes and inspection fees ----------------- @ 13.98C per gal. transport lots ----------------------- @ 12.98� per gal.
