<br />HEARING CONTINUED ON VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3388, 1973
<br />Hearing on the Vacation Resolution for the vacation&'IF:the alley north of State
<br />Road 23 (Cooper Bridge) and west of George Avenue, being Vacation Resolution No.
<br />3388, 1973, was continued until this date. Mr. Farrand displayed plans -for the
<br />Cooper Bridge, which indicate that the State Highway purchased an extra 20 feet
<br />of right-of-way beyond their fence, which would indicate that they were attempting
<br />to permit access to the alley in question. Mr. Isaiah Steed, owner of Lot 12,
<br />informed the Board that he would have great difficulty getting into his garage
<br />if this alley is vacated. There was a discussion of this matter with Mr. William
<br />E. Voor, Jr., Attorney for the petitioner, and the Board requested that he attempt
<br />to work out a settlement of this problem with Mr. Steed. Mr. Voor indicated that
<br />he would attempt to work out a solution to the problem and will notify the Board
<br />when he would like this matter on the agenda.
<br />PROJECT CHANGE ORDERS, PROJECT R S 51, Sample Street, from Mayflower to Greenview
<br />The Board received two change orders for Project R & S 51, Sample Street, from
<br />Mayflower to Greenview.
<br />A. Change Order No. 1, for items added to the contract, was an increase
<br />of $6,503.25. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board
<br />approved the Change Order, subject to available funding.

<br />U B. Change Order No. 3, to adjust plans to reflect as -built quantities,
<br />was an increase of $6,457.16. Upon motion made, seconded and
<br />carried the Board approved the Change Order, subject to available funding.
<br />PROJECT COMPLETION AFFIDAVIT - PROJECT R & S 51, SAMPLE STREET, FROM MAYFLOWER
<br />TO GREENVIEW
<br />The Project Completion Affidavit for Project R & S 51, Sample Street, from Mayflower
<br />to Greenview, was received by the Board, with a recommendation for approval from
<br />Patrick McMahon, Manager of the Bureau of Public Construction. Upon motion made,
<br />seconded and carried, the Board approved the Completion Affidavit, subject to
<br />available funding for the two previous change orders.
<br />LETTER FROM GOVERNOR BOWEN REGARDING COOPER BRIDGE
<br />The Board received a letter from Governor Otis Bowen responding to a letter from
<br />the Board regarding changes in lane markings on the Cooper Bridge. Governer
<br />Bowen has referred the matter to the Division of Traffic of the State Highway
<br />Commission and the District Office is to examine the approaches and make traffic
<br />counts. The Board will be advised of the results of the investigation. Upon
<br />motion made, seconded and carried, the Board ordered the letter filed and requested
<br />that copies be sent to Mr. Leslie Whitcomb, who suggested the changes, and to Clem
<br />Hazinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting.
<br />RELEASE OF CONTRACTOR'S BOND FOR ROBERT DERRICKSON
<br />The Board received a recommendation from Patrick McMahon, Manager, Bureau of Public
<br />Construction, that the Contractor's Bond for Robert Derrickson can now be released.
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved release of the bond,
<br />effective this date.
<br />CHANGE ORDER - WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT ADDITIONS
<br />The Board received a Change Order for the Wastewater Treatment Plant Additions
<br />in the amount of $10,538.56. Mr. Thomas Hurdle, of Clyde Williams and Associates
<br />was present and gave the Board an item by item review of the Change Order. Mr.
<br />Barcome asked Mr. Hurdle for the balance in the Contingency Fund and Mr. Hurdle
<br />presented a report on the status of construction funds which is on file in the
<br />Board Office. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the
<br />Change Order.
<br />CHANGE OF DATE OF MEETING
<br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the meeting of December 24th was changed
<br />to Wednesday, December 26th at 9:30 a.m., because of the holiday closing.
