REGULAR MEETING <br />AUGUST 20, 1973 <br />I� <br />0 <br />C� <br />The unused portions of Lots numbered 11 and 12 as shown on <br />the recorded plat of Kuntsman's 1st Addition to the Town, now <br />City of South Bend described as follows: <br />Beginning at the northwesterly corner of Lot Numbered 11, thence <br />easterly along the northerly line of Lots numbered 11 and 12 to <br />the intersection of said line with the chain link fence running <br />along the westerly right of way line of Innerbelt (Chapin), thence <br />southerly along the westerly right of way line of Innerbelt (Chapin) <br />and the above mentioned fence to a -point of intersection with the <br />westerly line of Lot numbered 11, thence northerly along the westerly <br />line of Lot Numbered 11 to the point of beginning, <br />and hereby directs and authorizes the Board of Public Works to make and deliver <br />its quit -claim deed pursuant to Ordinance for said property to John C. Weiss and <br />Edward E. Weiss, it being his intention by this instrument to assign and release <br />all of his right, title and interest which he may have to the above -described <br />real estate acquired by reason of said bid and the acceptance of the same; and <br />he further agrees to hold the Board of Public Works harmless from all actions <br />taken in this regard; and John C. Seitz, Member <br />REQUEST TO ADVERTISE CITY -OWNED REAL ESTATE FOR SALE <br />Parcels of land at 1211, 1219 and 1221 South Lafayette Blvd.,were offered for <br />sale in November, 1973 with no bids being received equal to the offering price. <br />Mrs. James Miller, 2009 Rockne Drive, has now expressed an interest in purchasing <br />these parcels. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board directed that <br />this property be readvertised for -sale on August 24 and August 31, 1973 with bids to <br />be received at 9:30 a.m. on September 17, 1973. <br />APPROVAL OF J. E. WALZ TENT SALE <br />The Board received a recommendation from Forrest R. West, Building Commissioner, <br />that the request of J. E. Walz, Inc. to hold a tent sale beginning September 6, <br />1973 and continuing until the middle of October, at their Main Street entrance, <br />be approved. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the tent <br />sale, subject to compliance with requirements of the Fire Prevention Bureau. <br />APPROVAL TO BLOCK WASHINGTON STREET - AUGUST 25 <br />The Board received a recommendation from Clem Hazinski, Manager, Bureau of Traffic <br />and Lighting, that a request to block Washington Street between Camden and Falcon <br />Streets from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 25 be approved with the <br />following provisions: <br />1. Police, Fire and Park Departments be notified and approval be <br />given, especially of the Park Department <br />2. That Washington be closed between Dundee and Falcon instead of <br />Camden, as requested, since Camden dead -ends into a Cut -de -Sac. <br />Mr. Seitz said that the Park Department had approved the request. Upon motion <br />made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the request with the provisions <br />outlined by Mr. Hazinski. <br />
