REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 13, 1973 REQUEST FOR TENT SALE The Board received a request from J. E. Walz, Inc. for permission to hold a Tent Sale beginning September 6, 1973 and continuing until the middle of October. The tent would be erected at their main entrance at 3400 South Main Street. The request was referred to Forrest West for a recommendation. REQUEST TO ATTEND CONFERENCE The Board received a request from Forrest R. West, Building Commissioner, to allow attendance by him and five of his inspectors at the Indiana Conference of Building Officials in Fort Wayne, Indiana on August 20 to 22, 1973. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the request. CONTRACTOR'S BOND APPROVED The Board received a recommendation from Ray S. Andrysiak, Bureau of Engineering, that the contractor's bond for the South Bend Form Tool, Inc. be approved. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the bond which extends until August 1,.1974. C� APPROVAL OF BLOCK PARTY - 1100 BLOCK PARKWAY The Board received a recommendation from Rollin E. Farrand,.P. E., that the C-) Bureau of Traffic and Lighting has investigated the request for -a Block Party in the 1100 Block of Parkway on Saturday, August 18, 1973 beginning at 3:00 p.m. The Bureau recommended approval of the request and will provide barricades. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the request, subject to indemnity insurance being received and the Police Department being notified. STREET LIGHT INSTALLATIONS APPROVED The Bureau of Traffic & Lighting presented the following recommendations for installation of street lights: 1. Alley, North of Ford Street, West of Warren Street Cost: $3.75/mo, or $45.00/yr. 2. I-ndiana Avenue, from Prairie Avenue to Olive Street Install 15 - 7,000L MV; Remove 7 - 7,000 L Cost - $36.30/mo. or $435.60/yr. 3. Area of Woodmont and Sampson Install 28 - 7,000L MV Remove 12 - 4,000L INC Cost - $64.20/mo, or $770.40/yr. 4. Light, midblock on Fassnacht, East of Birdsell Cost - $3.75/mo. or $45.00/yr. 5. Fairfax Estates Install 4 - 7,000L MV Cost - $12.25/mo. each or $588.00/yr. 6. Mid -block on Huron Street at alley East of 502 S. Liberty Cost - $3.75/mo. or $45.00/yr. 7. Relighting of Tutt Street from Michigan to Fellows Install 13 - 7,000L MV Remove 5 - 4,000L INC Cost - $35.50/mo. or $426.00/yr. 8. 1600 Block Dale Avenue - one light Cost - $3.75/mo. or $45.00/yr. 9. Williams from Lincolnway West to Navarre Install 5 - 20,000L MV Cost - $5.50 each or $27.50/mo. or $310.00/yr. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the recommendation for the installations.
