REGULAR MEETING <br />JULY 16, 1973 <br />3. Winter Storms: <br />All snow route signage is inventoried in the fall and all routes <br />are posted. As in Item 2 - supplies of traffic control equipment <br />are available. <br />4. Traffic Signals: <br />Technicians are available on 24 hour call: <br />Technician ii - George Ladewski 287-3411 <br />Technician I - Frank Kuminecz 287-4796 <br />5. Transportation: <br />All key personnel in supervisory positions have transportation <br />on a 24 hour basis and other personnel can be picked,..=up by them <br />as need dictates if they are unable to provide own transportation. <br />6. Unavailability of personnel: <br />in event of unforeseen circumstances and personnel is not <br />available, then the Bureau Head and Assistant Bureau Head <br />.will handle operation and if necessary with assistance <br />from local contractors. <br />Mr.. Donald Germann, Director of Civil Defense, was present and said that he has <br />set up.a seminar for Thursday, July 19, 1973 at 1:30 p.m. for the purpose of <br />holding a briefing for procedures for disaster. Upon motion made, seconded <br />and carried, the letter was ordered filed. <br />REQUEST FOR STREET LIGHTING - 800, 900,1000 BLOCK OF EAST FAIRVIEW <br />The Board received the following letter: <br />July 9, 1973 <br />Board of Public Works <br />County -City Building <br />South Bend, Indiana 46601 <br />Gentlemen: <br />I would respectfully request installation of underground <br />boulevard -type lighting in the 800, 900 and 1000 block of East <br />Fairview.Avenue. <br />Sincerely, <br />s/ Frank Horvath <br />Councilman At Large <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the request was referred to the Bureau <br />of Traffic and Lighting for investigation and report. <br />RECOMMENDATION ON REQUEST TO PARK VEHICLE IN FRONT OF COURT HOUSE <br />The Board received a recommendation from Clem Hazinski, Manager, Bureau of <br />Traffic and Lighting, that the request of Troop 477, Boy Scouts of America <br />to park a travel trailer in front of the Court House from it a.m. to 2 p.m. <br />on Tuesday, July 31, 1973 be approved. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, <br />the Board accepted the recommendation and approved the request. <br />REQUEST FOR STREET LIGHT - 3200 BLOCK SOUTH ST. JOSEPH STREET <br />The Board received a request from Mr. Raymond Claudon, 3205 S. St. Joseph <br />Street for installation of a street light in the middle of the 3200 block <br />of South St. Joseph Street. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the <br />request was referred to the'Bureau of Traffic & Lighting for investigation <br />and report. <br />REQUEST FOR BLOCK PARTY - 1300-1400 BLOCK SUNNYMEDE AVENUE <br />The Board received a request from Mrs. Lynn Larson, 1336 Sunnymede Avenue, <br />to hold a Block Party in the 1300-1400 Blocks of Sunnymede Avenue on Friday, <br />July 27, 1973 from 5:30 P.M. to 12:00 a.m. Upon motion made, seconded and <br />carried, the request,was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting <br />for investigation and report. <br />L <br />1 <br />11 <br />
