REGULAR MEETING JULY 16, 1973 3. Winter Storms: All snow route signage is inventoried in the fall and all routes are posted. As in Item 2 - supplies of traffic control equipment are available. 4. Traffic Signals: Technicians are available on 24 hour call: Technician ii - George Ladewski 287-3411 Technician I - Frank Kuminecz 287-4796 5. Transportation: All key personnel in supervisory positions have transportation on a 24 hour basis and other personnel can be picked,..=up by them as need dictates if they are unable to provide own transportation. 6. Unavailability of personnel: in event of unforeseen circumstances and personnel is not available, then the Bureau Head and Assistant Bureau Head .will handle operation and if necessary with assistance from local contractors. Mr.. Donald Germann, Director of Civil Defense, was present and said that he has set up.a seminar for Thursday, July 19, 1973 at 1:30 p.m. for the purpose of holding a briefing for procedures for disaster. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the letter was ordered filed. REQUEST FOR STREET LIGHTING - 800, 900,1000 BLOCK OF EAST FAIRVIEW The Board received the following letter: July 9, 1973 Board of Public Works County -City Building South Bend, Indiana 46601 Gentlemen: I would respectfully request installation of underground boulevard -type lighting in the 800, 900 and 1000 block of East Fairview.Avenue. Sincerely, s/ Frank Horvath Councilman At Large Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for investigation and report. RECOMMENDATION ON REQUEST TO PARK VEHICLE IN FRONT OF COURT HOUSE The Board received a recommendation from Clem Hazinski, Manager, Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, that the request of Troop 477, Boy Scouts of America to park a travel trailer in front of the Court House from it a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 31, 1973 be approved. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board accepted the recommendation and approved the request. REQUEST FOR STREET LIGHT - 3200 BLOCK SOUTH ST. JOSEPH STREET The Board received a request from Mr. Raymond Claudon, 3205 S. St. Joseph Street for installation of a street light in the middle of the 3200 block of South St. Joseph Street. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the request was referred to the'Bureau of Traffic & Lighting for investigation and report. REQUEST FOR BLOCK PARTY - 1300-1400 BLOCK SUNNYMEDE AVENUE The Board received a request from Mrs. Lynn Larson, 1336 Sunnymede Avenue, to hold a Block Party in the 1300-1400 Blocks of Sunnymede Avenue on Friday, July 27, 1973 from 5:30 P.M. to 12:00 a.m. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the request,was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for investigation and report.
