REGULAR MEETING JULY 9, 1973 Also, the portion of the north -south alley between St. Louis Street and St. Peter Street which lies between the south line of the Grand Trunk Western Railroad Company right-of-way and the south line of the first east -west alley south of Wayne Street. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the petition was referred to the Engineering Department for study and recommendation to the Board. SIGNING OF CONTRACT - OFF STREET PARKING FEASIBILITY STUDY The Board received a contract with Wilbur Smith & Associates for the Off -Street Parking Feasibility Study which had been previously approved by the Board. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the contract was signed. PROJECT COMPL-ETION AFFIDAVIT - MORRIS CIVIC AUDITORIUM PROJECT NO. 5342-71 The Board received a Project Completion Affidavit for Project No. 5342-71, Morris Civic Auditorium Renovations from Slutsky-Peitz Plumbing & Heating Company. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved and signed the completion affidavit. PROJECT COMPLETION AFFIDAVIT - MORRIS CIVIC AUDITORIUM PROJECT NO. 1109 i�. The Board received a Project Completion Affidavit for Project No. 1109, Additions & Alterations to the Morris Civic Auditorium from the Aulm Construction Company, Inc. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved and signed the completion affidavit. PROJECT COMPLETION AFFIDAVIT - MORRIS CIVIC AUDITORIUM- -_PROJECT NO. Oi4 The Board received a Project Completion Affidavit for Project No. 01471, Roof Repairs and Unit Ventilator for the Morris Civic Auditorium from the Aulm Construction•Company, Inc. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved and signed the completion affidavit. RECOMMENDATION FOR ACCEPTANCE OF PROJECT T6000 (6) - MAIN STREET FROM SOUTH STREET TO BRONSON The District Engineer's Report of Inspection and Recommendation for Acceptance of the Topics Project T6000 (6), South Main Street from South Street to Bronson Street. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the recommendation was approved by the Board. REQUEST FOR UPDATED STREET LIGHTING - COUNCILMAN!KOPCZYNSKI The Board received a request from Councilman Walter Kopczynski that the street lighting in the area of Indiana Avenue, West from Prairie to Olive Street, be updated. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board referred the request -to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for investigation and report. REQUEST FROM AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY FOR FUND-RAISING ACTIVITY The Board received a request from the American Cancer Society to hold a "Cancer/MS Toll" on August 25, 1973 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at five locations in South -Bend. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board referred the request to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for investigation and report. RECOMMENDATION TO MAKE THE 100 BLOCK OF WESTERN AVENUE ONE WAY EAST The Board received the following recommendation July 6, 1973 To: Board of Public Works From: Bureau of Traffic & Lighting, Clem Hazinski,Manager Subject: One Way Street (100 W. Western) In order to expedite traffic flow by providing additional lanes of traffic to St.Joseph Street, it is recommended that the 100 block of West Western Avenue be made One Way East.
