.5-5 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />MAY 29, 1973 <br />AWARDING OF BID - R & S 63 - BENDIX DRIVE <br />The Board received a.recommendation from the Division of Engineering that the <br />bid for R & S 62, Bendix Drive Widening from the South Shore Tracks to Lathrop, <br />be awarded to Rieth-Riley Construction Company on their low bid of $103,653.00. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board made a tentative award•of the <br />contract to Rieth-Riley, subject to approval -of, the appropriation request by the <br />Common Council. <br />AWARDING OF BID - CS-4 - NORTHEAST STORM SEWERS <br />The Board received a recommendation from the Division of Engineering that the bid <br />for CS-4 Northeast Storm Sewers be awarded to H, DeWulf Mechanical Contractors, Inc. <br />on their low bid of $277,664.80. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board <br />made a tentative award of the contract to H. DeWulf, subject to approval of the <br />appropriation request by the Common Council. <br />REQUEST FOR DISPOSITION OF VEHICLE <br />The Board received a memorandum from Stanley Przybylinski, Manager of the Municipal <br />Services Facility, informing them that the Model Cities Planning Agency has <br />e—I abandoned a 1963 Chevrolet Van, Serial #3R126F113630. The vehicle is beyond use <br />O since it has been cannibalized and onfy a part of the skeleton remains. Upon <br />Qmotion made, seconded and carried, the Board authorized Mr. Przybylinski to sell <br />the vehicle as scrap. <br />CONTRACTOR'S BONDS FILED <br />The following contractor's bonds were filed with the Board: <br />Booker T. Hosea <br />Gene V. Schlueter and Charles Dickey <br />Pablo Rodriguez <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board referred the bonds to the <br />Division of Engineering for investigation and report. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT <br />The Street Light Outage.Report for the period of 5-17=73 to 5-23-73 was received <br />and ordered filed. <br />REPORT FROM CITY ATTORNEY ON EAST MILL RACE PROPERTY <br />Mr. James A. Roemer, City Attorney, made an interim report on his investigation <br />into the east mill race property. He has been in contact with the Aays Rent -All <br />Company and has an oral agreement with them that they will give the City a <br />termination clause in their lease agreement on the mill race property. When he <br />has the written agreement, Mr. Roemer will present it to the Board. In regard to <br />the legal survey of all city -owned property in that area, one abstracter he <br />contacted has refused the job as being too big. He said: he has now contacted <br />Horace Clark in regard to a title search of all the property in the area. His <br />preliminary investigation reveals that the race property is owned by the I & M <br />Electric Company. Mrs. Jean Sharpe of the Portage Park Committee was present and <br />said there is a Quitclaim Deed dated December 8, 1965 from the I & M deeding the <br />property South of Colfax to the river to the City. Mr. Roemer said that he would <br />continue his investigation and would assign Deputy Attorney Robert Parker to this <br />study, also. <br />REQUEST FOR BIDS - MUNICIPAL SERVICES FACILITY BUILDING <br />The Board received a request from William J. Richardson, P.E., Director of Public <br />Works, that bids be received for a Municipal Service Facility Building (6,000 sq. <br />ft.) on June 11, 1973. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved <br />the request and directed the Clerk to advertise on June 1 and June 8, 1973 with <br />bids to be received at 9:30 a.m. on June 11, 1973. <br />
