REGULAR MEETING <br />MAY 21, 1973 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened�at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, <br />May 21, 1973 with all members present. Minutes of the previous meeting were <br />reviewed and approved. <br />BID OPENING - R & s 63 - BENDIX DRIVE <br />This being the date set for receiving bids for Project R & S 63, Bendix Drive <br />widening, the following bids were opened and publicly read, the Clerk having <br />tendered proofs of publication in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News <br />which were found to be sufficient: <br />The total amount of the bid was read and the bids were available for inspection <br />by any interested persons. <br />McIntyre Jones Construction Co. <br />2526 W. Sixth Street <br />Mishawaka, Indiana <br />Bid - $104,726.00 <br />Rieth-Riley Construction Co. <br />P. 0. Box 775 <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Bid - $103,653.00 <br />Bid was signed by Kenneth A. McIntyre, <br />non -collusion affidavit was in order and <br />a 5% bid bond accompanied the bid. <br />Bid. was signed by Richard A. Ruhlman, <br />non -collusion affidavit was in order and <br />a 5% bid bond accompanied the bid. <br />Engineer's Estimate was $105,965.00 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the bids were referred to the Division of <br />Engineering for investigation and report. <br />BID OPENING - PROJECT CS-4 - NORTHEAST STORM SEWERS <br />This being the date set for receiving bids for Project CS-4, Northeast Storm <br />Sewers (McKinley Terrace), the following bids were opened and read, the Clerk having <br />tendered proofs of publication in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News <br />which were found to be sufficient. <br />The total amount of the bid was read and the bids were available for inspection <br />by any interested persons. <br />Howell Construction -Company <br />51024 Portage -Avenue <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Bid - $347,259.00 <br />Bradberry Brothers <br />20061 Dice Street <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Bid - $385,513.75 <br />Dye Plumbing & Heating Company <br />712 Madison Street <br />LaPorte, Indiana <br />Bid - $283,626.70 <br />H. DeWulf Mechanical Contractor <br />58600 Executive Drive <br />Mishawaka, Indiana <br />Bid - $277,664.80 <br />Engineer's Estimate was $413,900. <br />Bid was signed by Ronald Howell, non - <br />collusion affidavit was in order and a <br />5% bid bond accompanied the bid. <br />Bid was signed by W. J. Bradberry, <br />non -collusion affidavit was in order and <br />a 5% bid bond accompanied the bid. <br />Bid was signed by Charles T. Dye, <br />non -collusion affidavit was found to be in <br />order and a 5% bid bond accompanied the bid. <br />Bid was signed by Henry DeWulf, non - <br />collusion affidavit was in order and a <br />5% bid bond accompanied the bid. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board referred the bids to the Division <br />of Engineering for investigation and report. <br />LETTER - RE: FLOOD INSURANCE <br />Mr. Donald Germann, Director, St. Joseph County Civil Defense, presented the <br />following letter to the Board: <br />
