1
C
U
REGULAR MEETING MAY 14, 1973
South Bend City Board of, Public Works
City -County Building
South Bend, Indiana 446601
Gentlemen:
The purpose of this letter ins to advise the members of the Board of
a serious surface drainage problem existing in the Southeast Sector
of the City.
Surface flow from areas south of Inwood Drive flows north across
Inwood and into the back yards of residents along the east side of
Woodmont and the west side of Cooper Court. This run off would flow
east on Inwood to a drainage ditch, but is prevented -from doing so
by the irregular grade of that street.
The excessive quantity of water being forced through the yards of
residents north of Inwood Drive is causing severe erosion of banks,
loss of shrubs, and general destrubtion of property. Also, the
amount of damage has increased with each successive rainfall for
the past three years.
It is requested by the undersigned that the Board study this urgent
problem and consider a solution that can be integrated into the drainage
work now in progress West of Ironwood Drive.
s/ Mrs. Rosetta M.
