222 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />MAY 7. 1973 <br />on Page 21, section 12, paragraph "B" of the "Requirements for Approved <br />Projects". Also include with each of the contract documents a copy of <br />Form ED-126 (forms enclosed) executed by your attorney and a copy of the <br />contractor's certificate of insurance in accordance with the contractual <br />requirements. <br />Sincerely, <br />s/ Myron L. Dodge, Chief <br />Technical Support Division <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board confirmed the contract and <br />signed the contract, maintenance, performance and payment bond forms. <br />AWARDING OF BID - KENSINGTON FARM SEWERS <br />The Board received the following recommendation: <br />To: Board of Public Works <br />From: David A. Wells, Manager, <br />Subject: Kensington Farm Sewers <br />Bureau of Design and Administration <br />Based on the low bid of $129,156.75 from Howell Construction Company, Inc. <br />which is within the budget for this project, we recommend a contract be <br />awarded to Howell Construction Company, Inc. for this project. <br />s/ David A. Wells, P.E. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the recommendation . <br />and awarded.t.he bid to Howell Construction Company. <br />REOUE'ST FOR BIDS - R & S 63 - BENDIX DRIVE WIDENING <br />The Board received a request from William J. Richardson, Director of Public Works, <br />R S 63, Bendix Drive widening from <br />that bids be advertised for Project & .South <br />Shore Railroad to Lathrop Avenue, with bids to be received on May 21, 1973. Upon <br />motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the request and the Clerk <br />was directed to advertise on May 11 and May 18, 1973.with bids to be received <br />on May 21, 1973. <br />REQUEST FOR BIDS - CS-4 - McKINLEY TERRACE STORM SEWERS <br />The Board received a request from William J. Richardson, Director of Public Works, <br />that bids be advertised for Project CS-4, McKinley; -Terrace Storm Sewers. Upon <br />motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the request and the Clerk <br />was directed to advertise on May 11 and May 18 with bids to be received on May <br />21,1973. <br />RESOLUTION - STREET IMPROVEMENTS - MICHIGAN AND MAIN STREETS <br />Mr. Richardson explained to the Board that a connection is needed between <br />Michigan and Main Streets north of the Central Business District. This Resolution <br />will provide for the preliminary engineering and exact location of the connector. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board adopted the following resolution: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 12-1973 <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works has found it necessary in the best interest <br />of the public safety and welfare to construct certain street improvements <br />on Michigan Street and Main Street north of the Downtown Renewal, and <br />WHEREAS, The improvements to the aforesaid Street are compatible with the Urban <br />Area Transportation Study, and <br />WHEREAS, the costs for these certain improvements are to be pro -rated at 10% <br />to the Cumulative Capital Improvement Fund and 90% to the Local Roads <br />and Streets Account, and <br />
