REGULAR MEETING APRIL 9, 1973 co -sponsored by the local chapter of the Indiana State Teacher's Association and the Council for the Retarded. A map showing the proposed route is -attached. The plan is for the ride to begin at Logan Center at 9:00 a.m. with rides scheduled throughout the day until 3:00 p.m. The route will be well posted and check points established every few miles. Bicycles will be inspected for safety and emergency measures enacted. The proceeds of the ride will be used to further services to the mentally retarded. The goal of the local ride is to raise enough money to purchase a hydraulic lift bus to transport handicapped children to the Logan Center program. Linden Thorn Executive Director Upon motion, made, seconded and carried, the request was referred to Mr. Clem Hazinski, Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, for investigation and report. REQUEST FROM SALVATION ARMY TO HOLD VICTORY PARADE ON EASTER MORNING The Board received a request from Major Herbert Fuqua of the Salvation Army to hold an Easter Morning parade in the eight -block area around their building. The parade would consist of marchers only and would start at 9:30 a.m. Upon motion, made, seconded and carried, the Board sent this request to Mr. Clem Hazinski, Manager, Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, for his study and recommendation. A.C.T.I.O.N. IN -KIND CONTRIBUTION VOUCHERS RECEIVED In -Kind Contribution Vouchers for the use of Fire Stations #10, #7, and #8 for the month of April, 1973 were received from A.C.T.I.O.N., Inc. and approved. CERTIFICATES OF INSURANCE - RECEIVED Certificates of Insurance were received from Sollitt Construction Company, Tonn & Blank and the South Bend Civic Theatre. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Certificates were referred to the City Attorney for investigation as to whether these certificates meet the city's requirements. REQUEST FOR RELEASE OF EXCAVATION BOND FOR MAX OCHS The Board received a report from Mr. Ray Andrysiak, Bureau of Engineering, that he had investigated the Excavation Bond for Max Ochs and recommended that the bond be released. Upon motion, made, seconded and carried, the Board authorized the release of the Excavation Bond for Max Ochs as of this date. CONTINUATION CERTIFICATES FILED The following continuation certificates were filed with the Board: Contractor's Herschel Willis Excavation McIntyre and Jones Construction Co., Inc. Excavation Creed's Excavating Company, Inc. Upon motion, made, seconded and carried, the continuation certificates were referred to the Bureau of Engineering for investigation and report.
