REGULAR MEETING <br />MARCH 26, 1973 <br />MEMO FROM BUREAU OF TRAFFIC & LIGHTING RE: PARKING RESTRICTIONS ON MIAMI <br />The Board received the following memo: <br />March 22, 1973 <br />To: Board of Works <br />From: Bureau of Traffic & Lighting, Clem Hazinski, Manager <br />Re: Parking restriction on Miami <br />Because of the anticipated increase in traffic volume on Miami <br />Street due to the opening of the Scottsdale Mail on Ireland Road, <br />it is recommended that parking be prohibited on Miami from Donmoyer <br />to Jackson Road. <br />It is further recommended'that parking be prohibited on Ireland Road <br />from Miami to York Road. <br />There was a discussion as to the effect such a restriction would have on <br />the Erskine Golf Course operation. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, <br />the Board requested that Mr. Hazinski meet with Mr. Seitz, Park Superintendent, <br />to look for some alternative solution to the problem caused by congestion in <br />this area. <br />L'a <br />U PETITION FOR STREET LIGHT - 2100 BLOCK BEVERLY PLACE <br />U <br />A petition with twenty-one signatures was presented to the Board requesting <br />a street light in the 2100 block of Beverly Place.Upon motion made, seconded <br />and carried, the petition was referred to the Bureau of Traffic & Lighting <br />for investigation and report. <br />CITIZENS REQUEST FROM COUNCILMAN KOPCZYNSKI RE: STREET LIGHTS <br />The Board received a request from Councilman Walter Kopczynski, Sixth District, <br />for the updating of street lighting in the 800 block of Parkway. Upon motion <br />made, seconded and carried, the Board referred the request to the Bureau of <br />Traffic and Lighting for investigation and report. <br />PROJECT CHANGE ORDER - MORRIS CIVIC AUDITORIUM <br />The Board received a Project Change Order in the amount of $1,010.32 from <br />Slutsky-Peitz Plumbing & Heating Company, Inc. for Morris Civic Auditorium <br />renovations. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the <br />Change Order. <br />REPORT FROM BUREAU OF ENGINEERING RE: 508 E. WENGER <br />Mr. Hugh Gammon, Bureau of Engineering, reported to the Board on his investigation <br />of a complaint from the St. Joseph County Health Department regarding holes <br />filled with water two lots over from 508 E. Wenger Street. The Street Department <br />has filled a hole in the alley and is filling holes in the lots. <br />REPORT FROM BUREAU OF ENGINEERING RE: 802 N. ST. LOUIS ST. <br />Mr. Hugh Gammon, Bureau of Engineering, reported to the Board on his investigation <br />of a complaint about stagnant water standing in front of 802 N. St. Louis St. <br />This is a new street and will be completed in three to four weeks thereby <br />eliminating the problem of standing water. <br />CONTRACTOR'S AND EXCAVATION BONDS APPROVED <br />The Board received a memo from Mr. Hugh Gammon, Bureau of Engineering, that the <br />following continuation certificates have been investigated and were ready for <br />approval: <br />Contractor's Bond Continuation Certificate <br />for Tuggy Itow d/b/a Ralph Keller Concrete Co. to 12/31/73 <br />
