1 7 <br />3/12/73 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried,.the Board approved the request and <br />directed that a copy of the letter be sent to the Charitable Solicitations <br />Commission. <br />REQUEST FOR RELEASE OF BOND - MUTA CONSTRUCTION COMPANY <br />The Board received a request from the CNA Insurance Company for the release of <br />a Contractor's Bond for the Muia Construction Company. Upon motion made, <br />seconded and carried, the Board referred this matter to Mr. Gammon, Bureau <br />of -Construction and Design for investigation and report back to the Board. <br />CONTRACTOR'S BOND RECEIVED - BUD'S CONCRETE <br />The Board received a Contractor's Bond for Bud's Concrete and, upon motion.made, <br />seconded and carried, referred the bond to Mr. Gammon, Bureau of Construction <br />and Design, for investigation and report to the Board. <br />CONTRACTOR'S BOND CONTINUATION CERTIFICATE-SOLLITT CONSTRUCTION COMPANY APPROVED <br />The Board received a memo from Mr. Hugh Gammon, Bureau of Construction and Design, <br />e-I that he had investigated the Continuation Certificate for the Sollitt Construction <br />Company and found everything to be in order. Upon motion made, seconded and <br />carried, the Board approved the Continuation Certificate from 3/5/73 to 3/5/74. <br />U <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT <br />The Street Light Outage report for the period of 2/26/73 to 3/6/73 was received <br />and ordered filed. <br />COMPLAINT BY F. JAY NIMTZ_ RE: SIDEWALK DAMAGE <br />Mr. F. Jay Nimtz, President of the Salvation Army Advisory Board, spoke to the <br />Board. Major Leslie Rogers and Chief Foreman Norman Callen were also in attendnace. <br />Mr. Nimtz called attention of the Board to damage done to the sidewalk in front <br />of the Men's Social Center by the contractor doing the sewer construction work on <br />Main Street. He said that much of the sidewalk is totally gone and some of it is <br />in pieces. There is the danger of someone falling and it has made it impossible <br />to gain access to the building. Some plywood was put down but not enough to make <br />it possible to get in and out. He said the contractor has not been too cooperative <br />and asked the Board what could be done in regard to this matter. Mr. Richardson <br />said that plans call for complete replacement of the sidewalk. Mr. Nimtz said <br />they were not given this information by the contractor. Mr. Richardson asked <br />David Wells, Assistant City Engineer, to check immediately on a temporary means <br />of gaining access to the building and to see that replacement of the sidewalk <br />is done as quickly as possible. <br />REQUEST FROM ST. JOSEPH BANK TO PLACE MOBILE HOME AT 4615 MIAMI STREET <br />The following letter was referred to the Board: <br />Mr. Forrest West <br />City Building Commissioner <br />Room 1300 County -City Building <br />South Bend, Indiana 46601 <br />Dear Mr. West: <br />We would like to request permission to place a mobile home at approximately <br />4615 Miami Street, South Bend, Indiana. This facility would serve as a <br />temporary branch bank until our permanent quarters are completed. <br />We anticipate that business will open in our permanent quarters on or about <br />August 1, of this year. <br />Your consideration regarding this request will be greatly appreciated. <br />Sincerely, <br />s/ John W.
