1/22/73 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2-1973 (CONT.) <br />ATTEST: <br />/s/ Patricia DeClercq <br />Clerk <br />Dated this 22nd day of January, 1973. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board adopted the resolution. <br />CONTRACT WITH MURPHY CONSULTANTS FOR STREET IMPROVEMENTS ON PORTAGE AVENUE <br />The Board signed a contract with Murphy Consultants, Inc. for the improvement <br />of intersections at Portage.Avenue and Forrest Avenue and Portage Avenue and <br />Cottage Grove upon motion made, seconded and carried. <br />PROJECT CHANGE ORDER - MORRIS CIVIC AUDITORIUM <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved a Change Order in the <br />amount of $1,785.00 to the Aulm Construction Company for labor and material to <br />""'I enclose sound damper and upper level heating and cooling unit to eliminate noise <br />in the system. <br />PROJECT CHANGE ORDER - MORRIS CIVIC AUDITORIUM <br />€.> <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved a Change Order in the <br />amount of $4,100.00 to the Aulm Construction Company for labor and material to <br />repair and renovate the basement lounge and women's powder room area. <br />REQUEST FOR BIDS - STREET SWEEPERS - BUREAU OF STREETS <br />Mr. Donald Decker, Commissioner, Bureau of Streets, requested that bids be received <br />for four Street Sweepers and, upon motion made, seconded and carried,'.the Board <br />instructed the Clerk to advertise for bids on January 26 and February 2, with bids <br />to be received on February 5, 1973. <br />MEMO FROM BUREAU OF TRAFFIC AND LIGHTING RE: RAILROAD CROSSINGS-PENN CENTRAL <br />January 17,'1973 <br />To: Board of Public Works S. Safety <br />From: Bureau of Traffic & Lighting, Clem F. Hazinski, Manager <br />Subject: Repair and Maintenance of Penn,Central Railroad Crossings <br />On January 12, 1973, accompanied by Mr. James Beard, Division Engineer of the <br />Penn Central Railroad and Mr.Ben Stark, track superintendent, an inspection <br />was made of each Penn Central railroad crossing in the city. <br />Most of the crossings require minor maintenance work, however those listed <br />below require repair or reconstruction and Mr. Beard indicated that such <br />corrective action will be programmed. <br />1. 200 block W. Ewing - reconstruct <br />2. 1600 S. Twyckenham - raise west bound rails to eliminate saw tooth effect. <br />3. Olive and Washington - reconstruct and replace headers <br />4. 1700 Longley - repair <br />5. 700 N. College - remove superfluous rails. <br />6. 1400 Vassar - rip out high spots, repair and patch <br />
