1/22/73 <br />809 N. Clinton Street Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board authorized <br />Mr. Steed to seek bids.for the demolition of the structure at 809 N. Clinton St. <br />Mr. Steed brought to the attention of the Board the following sub -standard <br />structures:, <br />Owner: <br />2005 W. Indiana Avenue Polly Montgomery, Administratrix for <br />the estate of Anna Mikulak <br />606 S. Carroll Street Francis A. & Irene M. Engel <br />513 S. Fellows Street James J. & Marilyn J. Stevenson <br />1109 W. Colfax Avenue William F. & Rubye J. Scott <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, Mr. Steed was authorized to bring the <br />above persons before the Board to show cause why the various structures should <br />not be demolished. <br />710 N. Hill Street Mr. John Carpenter, 706 N. Hill Street, appeared before the <br />Board regarding 710 N. Hill Street. Mr. Carpenter said that the contractor had <br />not fulfilled the contract in regard to this property. One building was demolished <br />but the lot is covered with debris. Mr. Carpenter said he hopes to acquire this <br />property and asked the Board to continue this matter for one week, in which time <br />he will make an attempt to clear the lot and investigate the possibility of <br />acquiring ownership of the lot. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board <br />continued this matter for one week at which time Mr. Carpenter will appear and <br />report to the Board. <br />BIDS FOR CITY VEHICLES <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board accepted the following bids for <br />city vehicles: <br />Group I Don Medow-American 30 units - Matadors $50,924.00 <br />Air Conditioning 9,000.00 <br />$59.9 4 00 <br />Group II Gates Chevrolet - 3 Units, 4-door Bel Air <br />Sedans $ 7,011.06 <br />Group III Bids to be awarded later <br />Group IV Gates Chevrolet - 1 Bel Air 4-door Sedan $ 3,497.08 <br />Group V Freeman -Spicer - 2 units - Satellite <br />4 door Sedans $ 5,222.78 <br />Group VI No bids awarded as there is not enough money available <br />Group VII Gates Chevrolet - 1 #7500 Pick-up Truck $ 4,195.00 <br />BIDS FOR JANITORIAL SERVICES - MUNICIPAL SERVICES FACILITY <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board awarded the bid for Janitorial <br />and other related services at the Municipal Services Facility to Eder -Bailie, <br />d/b/a South Bend Window Cleaning for $20,246.00 per year, invoiced at $1,688.00 <br />per month. It was the feeling of the Board that, because of the good business <br />experience with Eder -Bailie last year, their bid be accepted in the best <br />interests of the City of South Bend. <br />RESOLUTION - STREET IMPROVEMENTS - PORTAGE AVENUE AND FORREST'AVENUE <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1-1973 <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works and Safety has found it necessary in the <br />best interest of the public safety and welfare to construct certain <br />street improvements at the Portage Avenue and Forrest Avenue <br />intersection, and <br />
