1/15/73 BIDS OPENED FOR JANITORIAL SERVICES - MUNICIPAL SERVICES FACILITY Bids for janitorial services for the Municipal Services Facility, which were received on January 8, 1973, were now opened and publicly read, the Clerk having tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News, which were found to be sufficient., SIMS OFFICE CLEANING CORPORATION, 2939,S. Main Street, Elkhart, Indiana Bid - $33,000.00 per year Non -collusion affidavit was found to be in order and the bid was accompanied by a certified check in the amount of $1,655.00. EDER-BAILIE DIVISION, ITT SERVICE INDUSTRIES CORPORATION d/b/a SOUTH BEND WINDOW CLEANING COMPANY Bid - $20,256.00 per year Non -collusion affidavit was found to to be invoiced at the rate of be in order and a 10% bid bond $1,688.00 per :month. accompanied the bid. Alternate A - service to be extended through the year 1974 for the sum of $21,972.00. Alternate B - Cleaning of Parking Garages 1 & 2 - $4,944.00 per year. ABC JANITOR SERVICE, INC.. 821 N. NotreeDame Avenue, South Bend, Indiana Bid - $18,900.00 per year Non -collusion affidavit was found to - $1,575.00 per month. be in order and a 5% bid bond accompanied the bid. Alternate A - Bid for calendar year 1974 - $19,200.00 per year or $1,600.00 per month. Pest Control - General Office Area - $25,.00 per month or $300.00 per year. Entire building area other than general office area - $25.00 per month or $300.00 per year. Combination of the two items - $40.00 per month or $480.00 per year. Upon motion made, seconded and carried,,the bids were referred to the Municipal Services Facility for investigation and report to the Board. FIRE DEPARTMENT Chief Bland was present at the meeting and matters pertaining to his department were discussed. EXTENSION OF SICK LEAVE - FIREFIGHTER JERRY KENDALL A request was received from Chief Bland recommending that the sick leave of Firefighter Jerry Kendall be extended for fifteen days, Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board accepted,the Chiefs recommendation to extend the sick leave for fifteen days. POLICE DEPARTMENT Chief Seals was present and matters pertaining to his department were discussed. REQUEST FOR LEAVE OF ABSENCE - CADET WILLIAM W.
