Przybylinski <br />Manager, MSF <br />Mr. Richardson moved that the vehicles be declared as surplus and that Mr. <br />Przybylinski be=authorized to scrap them. Mr. Barcome seconded the mot4on but <br />said that he thought a duplicate title should be obtained for the 1955 Chevrolet <br />for the record. The clerk was instructed to check.the records of the Board of <br />Public Works to try to find the title or serial number. Motion carried. <br />REORGANIZATION OF BOARD <br />Upon -motion made by Mr. Richardson, seconded by Mr. Barcome, and carried, Mr. <br />Sweeney was re-elected President of the Board. <br />PENN CENTRAL RAILROAD REPRESENTATIVE <br />Mr. Clem Hazinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, explained to <br />the Board that Mr. James Beard, Division Engineer, and Mr. Ben Stark, Track <br />Superintendent, of the Penn Central Railroad were present in response to a <br />letter sent to Mr. J. J. Baffa asking that a representative of the Railroad <br />appear before the Board to explain why repairs to crossings in the city have <br />not been made. Mr. Baffa has retired and the letter was directed to Mr. <br />Beard for action. Mr. Beard said that he had inspected the Ewing Avenue <br />crossing this morning and, with the City's permission, they would like to <br />make temporary repairs now and rebuild the crossing in the spring. Mr. <br />Richardson asked what cities can do to protect themselves from situations where <br />railroad crossings are not repaired and maintained. He said he has had <br />difficulty contacting Penn Central representatives in the past. Mr. Beard <br />said he would cooperate to the utmost in this regard and would meet with Mr. <br />Hazinski today to study the needed crossing repairs. Upon motion made, seconded <br />and carried, the Board agreed to allow Penn Central to make temporary repairs <br />at the Ewing Avenue crossing now and rebuild the crossing in the spring. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT <br />Street light outage reports for the period of 12/20/72 to 12/27/72 were <br />received and ordered filed. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, upon motion made, <br />seconded and carried, the meeting was adjourned at 10:15 a.m. <br />11 <br />
