12/26/72 <br />[1 <br />1 <br />PETITION FOR STREET LIGHT AT WALNUT AND SWYGART STREETS AND HURON STREET <br />A petition from Mr. & Mrs. Robert Fujawa and Ethel Vance, 1415 W. Dubai] and <br />1418 West Dubail respectively was received by the Board and upon motion made, <br />seconded and carried referred to !the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for <br />study and report. <br />A petition bearing thirteen signatures requesting the installation of <br />a street light on Huron Street at the alley East of Kosciusko Street <br />was, upon motion made, seconded and carried, referred to the Bureau of <br />Traffic and Lighting for investigation and report. <br />INSTALLATION OF STREET LIGHTS APPROVED <br />The Bureau of Traffic and Lighting has recommended the installation of <br />street lights at the following locations:. <br />2200 S. Douglas <br />install midblock 1 7,000 lumen light <br />1100 Georgiana <br />install midblock 1 7,000 lumen light <br />2100 Hollywood <br />install midblock 1 7,000 lumen light <br />2700 Prast <br />install midblock 1 7,000 lumen light <br />Ewing and Prairie <br />Install 20,000 Lumen light <br />Install 7,000 lumen light <br />Install 7,000 lumen light <br />700 S. Phillipa <br />Relocate due to improper spacing (no cost) <br />600 S. Birdsell <br />Install midblock 2 7,000 lumen .light <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the above <br />recommendations and ordered the lights installed. <br />TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE APPROVED <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the re- <br />commendation of the Bureau of.Traffic and Lighting and ordered the <br />installation of a stop sign at Elwood and Iowa and the removal of a <br />yield sign:. at Elwood and Iowa. <br />When the property owner at the southwest corner of Elwood and Iowa <br />claimed that portion of his property that was previously !used as a <br />roadway the intersection became offset and actually two "T" inter- <br />sections - Therefore stop signs are recommended on Iowa at each approach <br />to Elwood. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the recomm- <br />endation of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting to remove a Yield sigh <br />and install a stop sign on 33rd Street at Pleasant. <br />CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved a Certificate <br />of Insurance for Cole Associates, Inc., 3600 East Jefferson Boulevard, <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />NEXT REGULAR MEETING DATE <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried it was determined to hold the <br />next regular meeting on Tuesday, January 2, 1973, inasmuch as Monday <br />is New Years Day. <br />
