11/20/72 STREET LIGHT PETITION - 3602 EDISON Mr. Kvetko, Housing Authority, appeared before the Board along with Mrs Sandra Aberegg, 3602 Edison Apt. A. Mrs. Aberegg read a peti- tion signed by 17 residents of 3602 Edison. Upon motion made, se- conded and carried, the petition was referred to.the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting. REQUEST FOR NEW STYLE STREET LIGHTS - COUNCILMAN WALTER KOPCZYNSKI The following letter was presented to the Board: November 9, 1972 Board of Public Works County -City Building South Bend, Indiana Gentlemen: I hereby request the Board of Works to initiate a program of replacing the old style boulevard type lights with the new style in the Belleville section. This area is bounded by Huron Street on the south, Western Avenue on the north, Gladstone Avenue on the west, and Albert Street on the east. There are a total of 20 fixtures to be replaced with the modern type. I have talked about this to the residents in the area and, contrary to what I have been told, there have been no objections voiced to me against this program. Should some- one voice an objection, I want their name and address so I can contact them personally. I request to be informed as to the progress in this program. Kopczynski Sixth District Councilman Upon motion made, seconded and carried this street light request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for study. EXCAVATION AND CONSTRUCTION BONDS The following continuation certificates were brought before the Board: 1 Excavation Bond - Donald D. White Construction Bond - Place & Co.Inc. Excavation Bond - Orra S. Frame & Son, Inc. Construction Bond - H.G. Christ - Excavation Bond - Place & Company, Inc. man Construction Co., Inc. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the above named bonds were referred to Mr. Gammons, Bureau of Construction, for investigation and report. STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT Street light outage reports were filed for the period of 11/8/72 to 11/16/72. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board determined that the next regularly scheduled meeting of the Board of Public Works and Safety would be held on December 4, 1972.
