11/20/72 In accordance with that certain agreement executed on December 12, 1960 and a supplemental agreement dated February 9, 1971 be- tween the Civil City of South Bend, Indiana and the Board of Aviation Commissioners of.St. Joseph County, Indiana covering the operation of a sanitary landfill on a tract of land at the southwest corner of St. Joseph County Airport, please be advised that such operation is now considered as compoete and the finish surface cover and grade is acceptable. The Board of Aviation Commissioners as Lessor has determined both:- agreements referred to above to be terminated and the City of South Bend as Lessee and Ritschard Brothers, Inc., as Con- tractor are hereby released from any further responsibilitf7es in connection with the agreements and the demised area as described in the agreements. MEMO FROM HEALTH DEPARTMENT - COMPLAINT CONCERNING WEEDS MIXED WITH TRASH The Health Department received a complaint concerning bags of weeds mixed with trash between„curb and sidewalk on the corner lot on west side of Lawton and Meade Streets. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board referred this complaint to Frank Koloszar in the Bureau of Sanitation for investigation. SIGNATURE CARDS FOR CONTROLLER AND COUNTY TREASURER Upon motion,made, seconded and carried, the Board approved signature cards bearing the signatures of the City Controller and the County Treasurer for the American National Bank. REQUEST TO PLACE CHRISTMAS KETTLE BOOTHS - SALVATION ARMY The following letter was presented to the Board. November 10, 1972 Re Request to place Christmas Kettle Booths As in previous years, our Christmas kettles have been placed on Michigan at Wayne, Michigan at Jefferson and in front of Osco Drugs, during the holiday season. We are again requesting permission to place kettle booths in the same areas to help raise funds for our Christmas effort for South Bend, to bring Christmas Cheer to many people.
